Steve Ma Takes Huge Chip Lead Before the Break

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Steve Ma went on a huge rush before the break and is now the overwhelming chip leader going into the final two levels of the night. Ma eliminated former leader Richard Powell with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} against {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} to surpass 100,000 in chips, and has since increased his stack to 150,000.

The remaining 14 players are on a 10-minute break.

Pusmucans First to 100K

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Only two players exceeded the 100,000 mark in the first flight of the day (Mandy Smith and Josh Knight), and Marc Pusmucans appears poised to join them here in Flight B. Pusmucans won his biggest pot of the day against previous chip leader Richard Powell when his {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} held up against {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} on a {2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts} board. He has since reached the century mark, dominating the action at Table 7.

Barry "The Beast" Bolts

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

A player in middle position opened to 3,000 and Barry Kruger moved all in for around 17,000 from the button. His opponent paused briefly before announcing a call.

Kruger: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}

The {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Spades} flop left Kruger drawing thin, and he whiffed on the {2-Spades} turn and {5-Hearts} river. The man known as "The Beast" will have to wait for another flight to advance to Day 2.

You Shall Not Pass

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Registration is officially closed for Flight B. The 57 entries equal exactly half of Flight A's 114, which came as a surprise to several of the players in attendance this evening.

"The power of the NFL," one dealer said. "It can prevent any poker player from coming to the room."

"I'll Wait 'Til Tomorrow"

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

With a raise to 3,400 in front, David Schrader committed his last 4,000 from the big blind and the other player called.

Schrader: {J-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Small Blind: {K-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Schrader's cards were live, but he found no help on the {6-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} board. "Good luck, everyone," he said as he stood up from the table.

Adam Foster reminded Schrader that he still had two minutes to re-enter, but Schrader was done for the day.

"I'll wait 'til tomorrow."

The Clock is Ticking

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

With only 15 minutes remaining in Level 8, players are running out of time to register or re-enter in Flight B. If you're in the area and on the fence, you better make your way over to the poker room now.
