Stempien Flushes Peperone

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

With the flop showing {2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Nick Peperone bet 4,000, John Stempien raised to 10,000 and Peperone moved all in. Stempien called off for around 23,000 total.

Stempien {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}
Peperone: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

Peperone was in front with his pair of fives but Stempien had two overs with his flush draw. The {9-Diamonds} turn changed nothing, but the {K-Spades} on the river completed Stempien's flush to give him 52,000 in chips.

Rivera Fires With the Seven-Deuce

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Alex Rivera told us he was going to give us a hand to write about. It only took him one hand to deliver.

Sonny Rattan limped from early position, Rivera raised to 700 directly behind and the action folded back to Rattan. He called.

The flop rolled out {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Rattan checked. Rivera bet 700 and Rattan called, bringing the {6-Clubs} on the turn. Rattan check-called again, this time for 2,400, and the {K-Spades} completed the board. Rattan checked, and Rivera began the chatter.

Rivera: "Tell me what you want me to bet and I'll bet it."

Rattan jokingly asked whether Rivera was committed to that. The dealer shook his head, and Rivera bet 5,200. Rattan quickly mucked.

Rivera showed the {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}, smiled, and raked in the pot.

"That's it," he told us. "No more."
