Stempien With Another Big Stack

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
John Stempien
John Stempien

We noticed than John Stempien's chip stack had grown since we last saw it and he told us how he doubled up against Bob Kieh. Stempien said he four-bet shoved for around 80,000 with pocket kings and Kiehl called with king-ten, and Stempien had Kiehl drawing dead by the turn.

Stempien, who spent much of Event #3 as the chip leader before finishing in sixth place, is now among the leaders in the Main Event.

"Not Even Back to Starting Stack!"

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Action folded to the small blind at Table 4 and he completed. Rick Block checked his option to see the {7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop. The small blind led out for 2,400, Block moved in for around 12,000 and the other player called.

Block: {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Small Blind: {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Block was behind and called for his outs — "Ace, two, five" — and got the {A-Diamonds} on the turn. The {7-Diamonds} on the river secured his double up to 25,000.

"Not even back to starting stack!" he joked.

Demmerley Shoves Out of Turn

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Art Demmerley
Art Demmerley

Art Demmerley raised to 3,6000 and three players called to see a {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop. In the big blind, Randy Lingenfelter cut out chips from his stack and motioned to bet, but before he could release them Demmerley grabbed his full stack of chips and pounded them into the pot.

A floorperson was called over to determine what Lingenfelter's options were, and he was told he could fold, check or bet; a fold would give the pot to Demmerley (the other two players had already mucked), a check would keep the action the same and a bet would change the action as Demmerley's bet would be pulled back.

Lingenfelter opted to fold and probably saved himself a few thousand chips thanks to Demmerley's error.

Penthouse to Outhouse for Graziano

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Tony Graziano
Tony Graziano

Tony Graziano was the chip leader early in the day but we just witnessed his exit from the tournament. Graziano was all in with the {Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs} on a queen-high flop but was outkicked by an opponent's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. The turn and river failed to save Graziano and he was eliminated.

We're assuming most of Graziano's chips went to new chip leader Bob Kiehl who owns a stack of more than 220,000 at the same table.
