Pfeifer Falls

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Randy Pfeifer moved all in for his last 2,800 from middle position and two players called. They checked all they way to the {J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Spades} river and one player bet 2,000, which induced a fold. Pfiefer needed to beat the {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} but flipped over the {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and made his exit from the poker room.

Thomas Busts

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Travell Thomas lost a big pot shortly after doubling, and then on the next hand he committed the last of his chips with the {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} against {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Thomas whiffed on the {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} board and hit the rail.

"I don't win flips," said Thomas. "I'm gonna stop getting in 'em."

Thomas says he's not sure if he'll play the final flight tonight. That will be his last chance to advance to Day 2.

Thomas Doubles

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Travell Thomas is making his first appearance in Event #5 today and he's trying to improve on his three deep finishes already in this series. We just caught Thomas moving all in from under the gun for 15,000 with {A-}{K-} and he was called by Rick Block with {10-}{10-}. The board ran out ace-high and Thomas doubled to 33,000.

$50K Guarantee Already Met

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With a total of 564 entries through the first five flights, the $50,000 guarantee has already been surpassed in Event #5. The biggest expected flight is still yet to come , so it's likely the guarantee will be smashed by the time registration for the tournament ends.
