Break Time!

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

The players are taking a 15-minute break as the tournament staff colors up and removes the green 25-denomination chips.

Get Crackin'

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Guelph, Ontario, Canada's Haris Galatsidas got it all in with {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} against {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} and while he was way behind, he had his opponent covered.

The flop rolled out {8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to give him a set and the lead. Then he locked it up making quads on the {8-Clubs} turn.

For those of you keeping score at home, the meaningless river was the {q-Clubs}.

Rich Giambra
Rich Giambra

Rich Giambra built a big stack on Day 1a Monday, but busted around 17th with 13 players going through to Day 2.

Today he's back at it again and just got it all in preflop with {q-Clubs}{q-Clubs} against two opponents.

One held {a-}{k-} and the other {7-}{7-}, but Giambra's queens held, even making him a set on the river of the {4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds} run out.

As a result, he tripled up into the early chip lead.

DeSantis is Done

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Peter DeSantis just got extremely unlucky to bust yet another bullet.

He bet 800 into a {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, then called when his opponent raised to 2,700. On the {a-Clubs} turn that opponent fired out 2,700 and DeSantis moved in for some 600 more.

Priced in, his opponent made the call with just {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. DeSantis held {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, but busted yet again when the river brought the pair-making {k-Clubs}.

Kim Whitney

Kim Whitney got it all in heads-up with {5-Clubs}{10-Clubs} on a {5-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Hearts} board and was up against {10-Spades}{8-Spades}.

His opponent hit the flush on the {2-Spades} turn, but Whitney managed to fill up on the {10-Diamonds} river to drag the pot and bust his opponent.

He's now chipped up to a spot among the early leaders.

Another Bullet

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

The number of entries keeps climbing as the fourth level comes to a close.

The board now reads 68 with a number of players re-entering.

In fact, we've seen Peter DeSantis fire three bullets already in an attempt to build a stack for Day 2.
