The Hard Way

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Branford, Canada's Paul Zakamarko just got to 100,000 the hard way.

He flopped top two on a jack-high board with two diamonds and got it in against two players, both holding flush draws.

The {j-Diamonds} looked good for the drawers, but it wasn't. In fact, it gave Zakamarko an unbeatable boat and he tripled up.

Matt Marcinkiewicz

Matt Marcinkiewicz has been quiet for most of the day, but everybody's favorite ginger Jesus has talking chips now.

He made it 3,000 under the gun and got one caller before Bruce Pace threw in a raise to 10,000. It folded back to Marcinkiewicz and he jammed in for 35,000 total. The caller folded, but Pace wasn't going anywhere with two jacks.

Marcinkiewicz had kings and flopped a third one to seal the deal, doubling through and leaving Pace with peanuts.

However, Rayshawn Smalls has pulled into the lead and away from the pack, sitting on 150,000 now.

He got heaps in with kings versus queens and held.

That brings the grand total up to 444, meaning the $100,000 guarantee has been laid to waste already with one flight still to come this evening.

The third flight rolls on now into Level 9 with 85 players still seated.

Goran Velimirovic turned a jack-high straight and got it all in for a 70,000-chip pot versus a player who had flopped two pair.

The straight held on a brick-like river and 'Go Go' Goran is among the leaders now.

In the meantime, Chris Fleming joins the chip counts with around the same after winning pot after pot a few tables over.

The Pace Slows

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Bruce Pace had a stack, but after playing a good 90 percent of hands at his table, that's all gone.

His final 17,000 went in after he called a raise, then joined that raiser in calling it all off when Deon Thomas pushed in behind them.

Thomas had kings, the raiser big slick, and Pace's {8-}{9-} was no match for either. When the dust settled, Thomas found a spot among the leaders heading into the break and Pace was seen ringing the re-entry bell.
