Sessum Gets There

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Dave Grana had Tim Rentschler and Maurice Sessum covered when they got it all in on a {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop.

Grana also had the best hand, holding top and bottom pair versus Rentschler's flush draw and Sessum's top-pair top-kicker.

The turn brought the {9-Clubs}, however, and Sessum suddenly had the better two pair. No spade and no surprises on the river meant Rentschler said goodbye and Sessum and Grana switched places on the leaderboard.

Roberts Rules

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Steve Roberts
Steve Roberts

Attica, NY's Steve Roberts just made one heck of a call to leap up to a spot among the leaders and knock another player out.

It was a four-way raised pot on a {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop when one player pushed in for 30,000. It folded to Roberts and he made the call with the {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

"I didn't think he had a pair," he said.

Turns out Roberts was right, he had the {q-Spades}{j-Spades} flush draw, with a gutshot and two overs. Roberts faded all trouble on the {5-Hearts} turn and even made a set on the {3-Diamonds} river.

Bianco Busts Leaving 20 Left

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Josh Thomas
Josh Thomas

Al Bianco ran the {a-}{5-} into British Expat and Niagara Falls, NY resident Josh Thomas' tens.

The tens held and as Bianco hit the rail, they moved to two ten-handed tables.

Thomas also moved into a spot among the leaders as they roll into Level 10.

Registration and Reentry Closing

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Some 22 players remain as registration and reentry is officially closing.

It appears the flight drew 75 entries, which would mean they will play a full 14 levels or down to nine players remaining before ending play.

Dave Grana has the chip lead heading into Level 9.

Wide Right

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante
Mike Flatley
Mike Flatley

Buffalo, NY's Mike Flately has taken the chip lead after finding himself on the right side of a classic cooler.

The cutoff made it 3,100, Flatley bumped it to 8,500 out of the small blind, and the cutoff shoved for close to 15,000 total. Flatley snap-called with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and the cutoff had the dreaded {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

As if that wasn't enough, they both flopped a set. Ultimately, Flatley held and will take the chip lead and that classic 'Andre Reed' Buffalo Bills Glory Days T-Shirt with him, heading into the second break of the day.
