Bartolotta Out, Christensen Leads After Malm Fold

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Erik Christensen
Erik Christensen

Cameron Bartolotta open-shoved 201,000 and Michael Malm made the call on the button.

Erik Christensen shipped it in from the big blind for 750,000 total, and after an eternity in the tank, Malm folded, later claiming a big overpair.

Christensen had the biggest overpair and his {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} held versus Bartolotta's {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} on a no-sweat runout.

It could have been the biggest pot of the tournament had Malm called. Either way, Christensen edged into the lead after it was over.

Jeff Hobrecker
Jeff Hobrecker

Jeff Hobrecker picked up king-ten on the button and let it fly.

Michael Malm crushed his dreams calling with the dominating ace-ten in the small blind and holding.

Budwey Salhab also got sent to the rail and it's down to 13 now with Malm firmly in the lead.

In the meantime, the remaining players have voted to take the 45-minute dinner break now. Play will resume at a little before 6 p.m. local time.

Dae Dae Done

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
David Battaglia
David Battaglia

David Battaglia shoved queen-nine from the small blind for not much over a raise and a call.

He got looked up by Erik Christensen with ace-nine.

No surprises on the board sent Dae Dae to the rail and vaulted Christensen up to 800,000.

As usual, Battaglia played the short stack ninja to perfection today. He was short on the bubble and managed to ladder all the way to 16th, just missing the next pay jump here.

DiPasquale Done

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

James DiPasquale flopped top pair aces, but got it in heads up with Erik Christensen after he turned two pair.

DiPasquale is done and Christensen has moved up near the top of the counts.

Jones Crowns Zakarian's Queens

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Veerab Zakarian
Veerab Zakarian

Anne Jones raised and Veerab Zakarian three-bet. Jones made the call, then led 85,000 on the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop.

Zakarian shoved for about 250,000 and Jones snap-called with the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Zakarian had the {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. The turn and river changed nothing, and with Zakarian out 19th, they are down to two tables of nine.

Level: 20

Blinds: 5,000/10,000

Ante: 1,000

Gaddi, Brunskole Gone

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Matt Brunskole
Matt Brunskole

Chris Gaddi got short then busted 21st.

Two minutes later start-of-day leader Matt Brunskole ran queens into Brian Patterson's aces for his last 250,000 and dipped out.

One more elimination and it's down to the final 18 and two tables.
