"Po, po, po!" could be heard echoing the Monte Carlo Poker Club which means that Leonardo Rizzo was dragging in a pot. It came on the heels of the elimination of Anthony Temperine after a preflop engagement saw the two players with all of their chips in the middle.

Tempering tabled A♣A♦ while Rizzo was left with 3♥3♣ and needing some help. That help arrived on the K♥8♦3♠ flop when Rizzo spiked a three to take the lead. The J♣, 10♣ runout was clean and Temperine was eliminated, sending his chips and the lead to Rizzo before the first break of the day.

Five players saw a flop for 1,200 apiece and the dealer spread the A♦6♠4♥ across the felt. Andrea Quadros led out with a bet of 2,000 from early position and was called by Juan Aramberri and Raimundo Ossa.

The turn brought the 10♦ and the action checked around to the Q♥ on the river. Aramberri made a bet of 4,500 on the river which Ossa called and Quadros stepped aside. Aramberri held A♣7♠ for top pair but Ossa showed A♠9♣ for a better kicker to claim the pot.

Renato de Matteo raised to 1,500 in middle position and was called by both of the blinds. The flop came K♠10♦2♠ and the action checked around to the 6♦ on the turn.

Rogerio Taboza took a stab at the pot with a bet of 2,100 from the big blind. Both de Matteo and the small blind called to see the 3♦ on the river. This time, the action checked to de Matteo who sized up a bet of 7,700. The small blind quickly folded and Taboza took his time but eventually did the same.

Flavio Gouveia raised it up on the button and Marcelo Torii called from the big blind. The flop came 7♥6♦4♠ and Torii checked to Gouveia who continued with a bet of 2,600. Torii check-raised to 7,100 and Gouveia jammed all in as the bigger stack. Torii called off his stack of 26,200 chips and the cards were tabled.

Gouveia flopped two pair but Torii had a straight draw to hit. The 9♣ on the turn was a brick and the A♠ on the river gave Gouveia the win as Torii headed to the rail.

Rollercoaster for Rizzo

After taking an early chip lead on Day 1b, Leonardo Rizzo slipped back in the counts momentarily. However, he recently chipped back up after an outburst at the table.

Three players headed to the flop of A♥J♠2♣ with Alexandre Couto already all in for 9,500. After seeing the flop, Rizzo also announced all in and the button folded.

Both players flopped a pair but it was Couto currently holding the lead. That changed on the 10♠ turn as Rizzo made two pair. The 10♦ on the river improved him to a full house in what he called a "perfect hand".

Alan Hernandez raised to 2,000 in the cutoff and Luis Araneda reraised to 7,000 from the small blind. Hernandez called and they went heads-up to a flop of A♠10♦8♣.

Araneda continued with a smaller bet of 3,000 and Hernandez called to see the 7♦ on the turn. Araneda reached back and shoved all in for just shy of 20,000 which forced Hernandez to dump his cards in the muck.
