Fireworks on Table Four Culminate in Exit for Wong

Level 25 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Alex Chong
Alex Chong

Three ways to the 964 flop, Renato Villanueva checked and Edzel Villares bet 49,000. Recently arrived Marlon Laxamana opted to call before Villanueva check-raised to 120,000 with around 220,000 behind. Villares folded and Laxamana opted for the same decision.

What followed was a preflop reraise with 160,000 in the middle between Laxamana and Alex Chong. The latter jammed the Q656 turn for 274,000 and Laxamana asked for a count before using two time banks. He then called for most of his stack to create a near seven-figure pot.

Alex Chong: AK All in
Marlon Laxamana: JJ

Chong had been involved in a ton of hands throughout the day with his stack experiencing wild swings as a result. It would be his last hand of the tournament, though, as the 9 river was a blank.

On the tail end of a 105224 board, Michael Concepcion checked and then faced a bet of 100,000 by Nikolas Rivera. After some consideration, Concepcion called and Rivera exposed the QJ for a missed flush draw which Concepcion had beat with the A5 for fives and deuces.

Riga Eliminated by Chong

Level 25 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jannodin Riga
Jannodin Riga

Alex Chong had jammed over the top of a bet by Jonard Arcilla in a previous hand to continue his wild roller coaster ride throughout the early stages of Day 2 and that turned out to be pivotal for the next all-in showdown.

On the J104 flop, Jannodin Riga pushed for around 30 blinds and Chong called with the marginally covering stack.

Jannodin Riga: KQ All in
Alex Chong: A10

The 4 turn and 8 river were both blanks and that spelled the end for Riga.

Ivan Dela Cruz: QQ All in
AJ Acdal: AK

The 952610 board stayed clear for Dela Cruz to double once again.

Double-Ups for Gopez and Cerbito

Level 25 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

At almost the same time on two neighbouring tables, Edilberto Gopez and Marciel Cerbito notched up doubles.

Alex Chong got away with a three-bet shove after a raise and two callers to then get into a raising war with Gopez in which he made it 65,000 to go. Gopez clicked it back to 130,000 and called instantly when Chong jammed.

Edilberto Gopez: AA All in
Alex Chong: 1010

The aces held on a board of KQ567 for Gopez to survive.

Cerbito turned the nut flush with A4 to beat Simon Isback and his KJ for an inferior flush on the K65QJ runout where none of the two was ever going anywhere.

Level 24 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Gursimran Brar won a healthy showdown pot off Patrick Clarke and then saw a raise to 9,000 by Clarke thereafter, which he three-bet to 24,000. Henrik Tollefsen then four-bet jammed for 130,000 total and it folded back to Brar, who asked for a count before folding.
