Horgan Talks Nundloll Out of a Call

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The always chatty and jovial Colin Horgan from Ireland has found his soul mates here in South Africa as he has clearly been enjoying himself even if the efforts on the table have not brought much reason for joy yet.

He was involved in a larger pot again and actually jammed the 985A turn for 43,500 against Dave Nundloll, who had knocked out several short stacks since the dinner break was over. They started some table chat and Horgan joked that his opponent can't beat six-seven.

Ultimately, Nundloll used a time bank and folded. He was given the chance to peel one card and the 8 was revealed to leave the French player stunned momentarily.

Three ways to the J92K turn, Alvin Pillay bet 6,000 and Panayiotis Giannakopoulos moved all-in for 16,500.

While focusing on his phone, Pillay shook his head and Jean Souprayenmestry was still in the tank. The Frenchman then folded and Pillay called after a few seconds of consideration.

Panayiotis Giannakopoulos: K7 All in
Alvin Pillay: QJ

Giannakopoulos was ahead with top pair and the flush draw, while Pillay had second pair and a gutshot. One of the outs came with the 10 river to bust the Greek based in Tanzania.

Ben then busted against Diggle as well before Joey Weissman was knocked out by Dave Nundloll.

Nic Ioannoy

Jehan Richards limped from under the gun and Nic Ioannoy got his last 4,500 in from two seats over. Terry Brookes and Saurabh Gulati called out of the blinds, Richards also came along.

Brookes led the K93 flop for 10,000 and the only caller was Richards. Both checked down the J turn and 6 river for Brookes to show A4 for the busted nut flush draw. Richards had that beat with KQ and Ioannoy tossed his cards into the muck.

The Field Grows After the Dinner Break

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Benjamin Lingenfelder was among the bigger stacks before the dinner break but it all came to a crushing end within half an hour. He lost the final part of his stack with pocket kings against the pocket eights of Rayhaan Adam, who flopped a set.

In the meanwhile, several players have entered to bring the field up to 115 entries.

Britz Gets Some Value Off Mery

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Eduarte Duarte raised to 3,500 from under the gun and was called two ways by Lee Thaver and Didier Mery out of the big blind.

On the KQ8 flop, all three players checked to the K turn. Renier Britz bet 6,000 when checked to and Mery was the only caller.

The 4 river saw Britz bet 50,000 out of turn as he had not seen Mery check. Once the French player checked, Britz's bet stood and Mery folded to get shown QQ for queens full of kings.

Colin Horgan was all-in for 18,000 preflop and Dave Nundloll isolated after the Q76 flop.

Colin Horgan: KQ All in
Dave Nundloll: QJ

The 4 turn and A river ensured the triple up for Horgan, who was happy to have avoided the re-entry cost and even got more chips out of it. Cliton Taliwanth was not as fortunate as he bowed out on the next table.

Appel Catches Gossard Bluffing

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Not all players had returned to their seats in time after the dinner break and Bernard Gossard made a move out of the small blind on the 983102 river with a bet worth 6,000. Hennie Appel called in an early position and Gossard showed Q4 for a bluff. Appel won the pot with the 105 and Gossard shook his head.
