Johnny Bland raised to 45,000 and Matthew Whitelaw called from the big blind. On the 8♠7♠5♥ flop, they invested 50,000 each and the 4♠ turn was checked. Whitelaw led the 10♦ river for 75,000 and Bland sigh-folded the A♥A♣ face-up.
Ahmed Karrim raised to 40,000 and Nic Ioannoy called from the small blind with the A♦4♣. They checked the Q♠8♦6♥ flop to the 9♦ turn on which Ioannoy led for 50,000, Karrim called.
After the K♥ river, Ioannoy checked and Karrim bet 360,000 to force an instant fold from his table neighbour.
Devid Berlin pushed all-in for the last 85,000 from the cutoff and Edgar Antezana called on the button, both blinds folded.
Devid Berlin: K♣9♣
Edgar Antezana: A♣J♠
The Q♠8♦2♥Q♣2♣ runout changed nothing as ace-high came out on top to eliminate Berlin in 28th place. All remaining players will now be balanced across the final three tables.
In a duel big blind versus small blind, Edgar Antezana was all-in for 465,000 and Devid Berlin looked him up with the covering stack.
Edgar Antezana: A♠Q♥
Devid Berlin: J♥J♣
One of the most dreadful pocket pairs in tournament poker fell behind on the Q♦5♥2♥ flop. The 7♥ turn changed nothing, and the A♥ river only improved Antezana to the superior flush.
Muzamil Gothey had jammed several times to earn more chips and then did so off a limp by Johnny Bland, who folded.
"You wanted to raise?" Gothey asked and Bland nodded.
Gothey then jammed the button and Jaryd Jardien folded the 7♦2♥ in the big blind.
Divan Le Roux opened to 45,0000 with the A♣9♦ from an early position. He was called by Nic Ioannoy in the small blind with the J♥J♦ and Darren Kramer in the big blind, the latter of who held Q♠10♥.
On the Q♦6♠4♥ flop, it checked to Le Roux who bet 55,000. Both opponents called and Le Roux took the lead with the A♠ turn. Now Le Roux bet 180,000 when checked to and won the pot right there.
Alvin Pillay raised from an early position and was called only by Devid Berlin in the small blind. There wasn't much action until the A♣8♦2♠3♦ turn on which Berlin checked. Pillay bet 60,000 but was check-raised to 200,000 for Pillay to fold.
Matthew Whitelaw open-shoved the cutoff for 310,000 and Muzamil Gothey looked him up from the small blind.
Matthew Whitelaw: Q♠10♠
Muzamil Gothey: A♣A♥
Whitelaw had a piece of the K♦10♦8♣ flop and improved with the Q♣ turn. Nothing changed on the 6♠ river and Gothey had a bad beat story to tell.
Over on the outer tables, Colin Horgan defended the big blind against Russel Wheatley and check-called the A♣3♣2♥ flop for 50,000.
After the 4♠ turn, Horgan check-raised to 125,000 and Wheatley pushed all-in for a large stack.
"How much is it?" Horgan said and vaulted out of his seat. The shove was for 640,000 and Horgan used two time banks during which he mentioned "I have a set". He eventually called to create a massive pot.
Russel Wheatley: A♠10♦
Colin Horgan: 2♠2♣
The 7♠ river didn't bring the unlikely chop and Wheatley crashed out in 28th place.
Jaryd Jardien didn't like it but eventually called the preflop all-in of Muzamil Gothey for 300,000.
Gothey's A♥K♣ had Jardien's A♦Q♥ pipped and the A♠4♥3♦8♣10♥ board kept it that way.
