On the 6♦ river, the board paired and du Toit opted to check. Muller bet 15,000 and his opponent sighed, then guessed "sevens, nines, you gotta have a boat" before folding.

Muller indeed showed his cards as he tabled the 9♦9♠ for a full house.

"I think you have queens," Mouton said and Pillay shook his head. Mouton then exposed the A♠Q♠ for the missed nut flush draw and Pillay earned the first knockout of the day with the A♥A♣.

Following a raise to 1,100 and a call, Dirk Steenkamp three-bet to 5,000 and was called by two opponents including the initial raiser Simon Brown. On the A♦7♠2♣ flop, Steenkamp fired a bet of 10,000 and was called by Brown to then repeat the same action on the 4♥ turn for 15,000.
