In a preflop three-bet pot to the K♣Q♦10♦6♣ turn, Keenan Pienaar check-called a bet of 75,000 by Eben Lottering. He bet the A♥ river for 50,000 and Lottering instantly called with aces only to get shown K♦J♥ by Pienaar.

"What a sick river," the big stack said while raking in the pot.

Max Deveson opened to 50,000 with the A♠J♣ and Harold Brooks called from the big blind with the 9♠6♥. Following the 6♠4♥3♠ flop, Brooks check-called for 50,000 and they checked the 8♠ on the turn.

Brooks led the 10♥ river for 50,000 but folded when Deveson raised it up to 260,000.

Giovanni Zanette raised to 60,000 with the 9♠9♥ and Harold Brooks did so with Q♦Q♥, Hennie Appel moved all-in for 70,000 on the button holding A♥7♦ and was called both times.

That led them to the J♥10♠8♥ flop on which Zanette checked, Brooks bet 125,000 and Zanette called.

The 5♠ turn saw Zanette check once more, Brooks bet 260,000 and isolated successfully. Nothing changed withz the 6♣ river and Appel was eliminated in 16th place for ZAR44,800 ($2,464).

Max Deveson raised to 40,000 with the 2♠2♥ on the button and Hennie Appel called in the small blind holding the K♣10♣. The K♦5♥2♣ flop gave Appel top pair and he check-called for 20,000. After the Q♠ turn, Appel check-called for another 130,000 and checked the 7♣ on the river.

Deveson now bet 395,000 with 30,000 behind. Appel went deep into the tank and eventually called to get shown the bottom set, dropping to a mere three big blinds.

Harold Brooks raised to 55,000 with the J♠J♥ in an early position and Giovanni Zanette came along in the big blind holding the K♥Q♦. Like they had done before, Zanette went into checking mode against Brooks with flopped top pair and Brooks checked back the K♠8♠2♥ flop.

On the 6♦ turn, Zanette check-raised from 60,000 to 150,000 and jammed the Q♥ river for 225,000. Brooks ended up paying it off to get shown the bad news and Zanette doubled back into contention.
