Giovanni Zanette opened to 45,000 with the A8 and Harold Brooks three-bet to 100,000 with KK two seats over in middle position. They headed to the A54 flop on which Zanette check-called for 50,000 and checked again the 10 on the turn. Brooks fired a second barrel for 90,000 and received a second check-call.

There was one further twist to the story as the K river on which Zanette checked. Brooks bet 150,000 and his opponent grabbed some of his time bank extensions to mull it over some more. Zanette eventually called and was shown the bad news.
