Sontheimer's Boat Bests Hellmuth

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante

Phil Hellmuth bet 18,000 from the button on {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Steffen Sontheimer called in the cutoff. The German check-called 42,000 more on the {5-Diamonds} and both quickly checked the {4-Diamonds}.

Sontheimer opened {5-Spades}{4-Spades} for a boat and Hellmuth was less than pleased. A grinning Sontheimer dragged the pot.

Peters' Big Slick Holds, Allows Him to Double

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante

David Peters and Dan Smith were battling out of the blinds, getting their chips in the middle on the turn reading {10-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. It appeared that Peters check-shoved for his last 83,500 over Smith's 40,000-chip bet. Smith called and they turned them up.

Peters: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Smith: {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Peters had to avoid a club or an eight on the river but the dealer waited for the TV crew to come before she revealed the river card. Peters grabbed his phone in the meantime, joking: "I'm live-updating this."

Eventually, the {2-Diamonds} was a brick and Peters stacked a double, climbing back closer to the starting line.

Kings Versus Kings

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante

Igor Kurganov opened for 4,000 and Mikita Badziakouski made it 20,000 in the big blind. Kurganov reraised to 50,000 and Badziakouski called. On the {7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Spades} flop, Kurganov bet 31,500. Badziakouski used a time extension and raised to 95,000. Kurganov called.

On the {2-Diamonds} turn, Badziakouski shoved all in for 229,000. Kurganov got the count and went into the tank, using an extension.

"I would always call, except the way that you called preflop, I thought you had aces," he said.

Kurganov decided he couldn't fold and put in some chips. He showed {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and Badziakouski laughed and showed {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

Adams Turns a Full House on Tollerene

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante

Ben Tollerene raised the cutoff to 3,500 and Brandon Adams called in the small blind.

The flop of {Q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} was checked around to see the {A-Diamonds} land on the turn.

Adams bet out 8,000 and Tollerene called as the river landed the {9-Hearts}.

Adams bet 26,000, and Tollerene called.

Adams tabled his {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for a full house, and Tollerene mucked and dropped to around 28 big blinds.

Chidwick Wakes Up With Back-Raise

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante

Jake Schindler has been often seen three-betting today and he showed it once again, squeezing to 25,000 out of the small blind after Brandon Adams had opened to 4,500 and Stephen Chidwick flatted on the button.

Adams got out of the way but Chidwick reached to his piles, sliding in a tower of well over 100,000, leaving himself with fewer chips than that. Schindler thought for a moment but gave up, leaving the pot to the US Poker Open leaderboard winner.

Hyman Five-Bets

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante

From the hijack, Matt Hyman opened with a raise to 3,500 and Christoph Vogelsang three-bet the cutoff to 13,500.

With the action on Sergio Aido in the small blind, he four-bet to 41,500.

Aido thought for a little, threw out his time extension chip, and then opted for a fold.

Durnegger Burns Timebank Before Moving All-In

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante

Small blind Andrew Lichtenberger bet out 27,000 on the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop, battling against cutoff Markus Durnegger. Durnegger had under 150,000 in front of him and he burned one of his time extensions, using the extra minute to the max before announcing he was all-in. Lichtenberger snap-folded.

Phil Hellmuth

Steffen Sontheimer opened for 4,000 on the button and Phil Hellmuth made it 16,000 in the next seat. Sontheimer came back with 38,000 and Hellmuth used a time extension but then quickly called.

On the {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, Hellmuth check-called 22,000. He checked the {8-Diamonds} and Sontheimer put him all in. Hellmuth began muttering to himself.

"They have no idea who I am," Hellmuth said. "Played four One Drops..."

Eventually, he folded. Sontheimer showed the {3-Spades}.

"Of course," Hellmuth said. "Tried to give me money."

"I'd have snap-called," Bill Perkins said.

"All I had was ace-ten high," Hellmuth replied.

Blieden Doubles Through Greenberg

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante

Larry Greenberg, Kathy Lehne, and Dennis Blieden were on the {6-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} turn where Blieden fired 15,000 in position. Only Greenberg called and the {7-Spades} completed the board.

Greenberg checked and Blieden threw in his last 21,500. Greenberg called, declaring he had "three pairs" as he indeed showed the {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Blieden rolled over his {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, scoring the double.

"How much is that?" Greenberg asked. "Dust," replied Blieden.

"As long as I'm going to be here, you're going to be here," Greenberg told Blieden as he doubled him again.
