Miracle River Saves Warren

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mike Warren
Mike Warren

Three-ways to the turn with a little over 80,000 in the middle, the board read K1088.

Mike Warren jammed for 82,000 from the big blind, and the under the gun player flatted with 120,000 behind. The third opponent in middle position tank-folded AA face-up.

Mike Warren: KQ All in
Under the Gun: A3

Warren's opponent had flopped the nut flush, but Warren had boat outs with his two pair, kings and eights. Incredibly, the 8 would fall on the river, putting trips on the board to give Warren the winner with a full house. Had the third player with aces stayed in the pot, he would have made a better full house.

Gerrick The Beneficiary of Misread Hand

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

A player limped in early position, the small blind completed, and Jonathan Gerrick checked his option in the big blind.

The small blind would then lead on the AJ3 flop and only Gerrick called. The same would occur on the 3 turn, with Gerrick calling another bet.

With just under 100,000 in the middle, the two players saw a 9 river as the small blind led for 63,000. Gerrick took some time before he announced all in for his 164,000 stack, and the small blind snapped it off as the covering stack.

Jonathan Gerrick: J3 All in
Small Blind: 104

The table stood aghast at what they had just witnessed after the small blind snapped off the river jam with ten-high. Gerrick's stack was counted and the small blind sent the doubling chips over, and it wasn't until the post-mortem during the next shuffle that the small blind admitted that he though his hand was ten-three, instead of ten-four.

"Good to know," tablemate Dejuante Alexander joked, "I was about to call the floor over because that can't be legal."

Perry Drills the River to Survive

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In a limped pot, the flop read 743 as the blinds checked to Mike Perry from under the gun who jammed for his 46,000 stack. The small blind then rejammed for 107,000, and the big blind folded after some deliberation.

Mike Perry: A5 All in
Small Blind: 44

Perry had a double gutter against the middle set of his opponent, who was in good shape to score the knockout.

The A turn changed nothing, but it was the 6 that landed on the river to complete Perry's straight as a frustrated opponent doubling chips to Perry.

Reading Holds On to Double

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

There was a little under 40,000 in the middle preflop in a three-way pot with the flop reading 753.

It checked to John Reading on the button who jammed for his remaining 43,000. The third opponent folded but the early position opponent called after a minute's tank.

John Reading: 88 All in
Early Position: A4

Reading was ahead with the overpair but his opponent held an overcard, double gutter, and backdoor flush draw. Luckily for Reading, the board ran out 105, leaving his eights best to secure the double.

Fleischer Finds Aces for the Double

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

A player opened from middle position before Terry Fleischer jammed for 48,000 from the cutoff, and the opener snapped it off as the covering stack.

Terry Fleischer: AA All in
Middle Position: QQ

It was a cooler scenario for just 12 big blinds, but Fleischer was not complaining as the AJ2 flop improved him to top set. Nothing changed on the 79 runout, and Fleischer collected the full double.

Reategui Rivers a KO

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

A player limped under the gun before Anthony Reategui made it 12,000 on his left, and his opponent called.

On the 652 flop, the under the gun player led all in for about 25,000, and Reategui called.

Under the Gun: 88 All in
Anthony Reategui: A10

The eights were still in front as the 7 turn added a flush draw for Reategui. However, it was the A river that gave him the winner, and he took out a frustrated opponent to pad his stack.
