After a few initial levels where "everything went well," EPT champion Nicolas Dumont opened from middle position and was called by the button.

Both players checked all the way through a board of Q♠Q♦J♠J♦, but after Dumont checked again on the 3♣ river, the button bet 15,000.

After a few seconds, Dumont called, but he ran into a full house with J♣10♣.

Henri Lansade was seen pretty happy in front of a 825,000 chip-stack. According to him and his neighbors, a player opened from under the gun. Lansade called from the small blind, and Samuel Fournier defended from the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 9♣8♥2♥, and both Lansade and Fournier check-called after the under-the-gun player made a continuation bet.

On the 4♥ turn, the player under the gun shoved for 109,000. And once again, both Lansade and Fournier check-called. However the 9♥ river brought no more action.

Mathieu Rabalison stood up and was ready to leave as his 180,000 chip-stack was called by Jérôme Zerbib.

As the bubble is approaching, Rabalison ran into aces. But he came back at the table when he found a flush draw on the 3♥A♥6♥ flop.

The 5♠ turn didn't change anything, and he was eliminated after Zerbib hit a full house with the 3♣ river.

After Rabalison's elimination, there are 158 players left for 151 places in the money.

Sabry Ferhaoui opened to 18,000 from the cutoff, then Hipolito Carapeta on the button three-bet to 40,000. the small blind folded, but Benoit Grobocopatel in the big blind four-bet to 100,000.

Ferhaoui folded, clearly unhappy, and Capareta eventually made the call.

Grobocoptel continued for 55,000 on the 4♣5♥2♣ flop and Carapeta called, then both players checked the 6♠ turn.

The 8♥ brought no more action and Grobocopatel revealed A♦K♥ while Carapeta sent his cards into the muck.

Around 50,000 was in the middle on a board of K♠J♣4♣2♣ in a hand between Jean-Jacques Ben Oliel and Isabel Baltazar in the blinds.

Oliel moved all in for around 135,000 and after a short period of thought, Baltazar called to put Ben Oliel at risk.

The tension built as a crowd gathered to watch while the players waited for permission to reveal their hands, and after about three minutes, they were authorised to do so.

Ben Oliel had a seven-high flush but was drawing dead against Baltazar's queen-high flush, and the 4♥ completed the board, sending the unfortunate Oliel to the rail.

Nicolas Noguera opened to 16,000 from under the gun, then Kuljinder Sidhu shoved for 48,000 from the cutoff.

Mallory Frere in the big blind didn't see that Sidhu moved all-in and wanted to call Noguera's raise, but he had to call Sidhu's stack. Supposing that Frere didn't have a very strong hand, Noguera four-bet and made Frere fold.

Action folded to Victor Dubrulle in middle position who moved all in for 93,000. David Hu made the call in the cutoff.

Action folded to Nicolas Tytgat in the small blind, who produced a three-bet to 130,000. Hu called.

On the 7♥J♠5♣ flop, Tytgat led out with a bet of 75,000, and after some thought, Hu called.

The 7♣ rolled off on the turn and Tytgat checked. Hu slid out a bet of 225,000, and after some deliberation, Tytgat folded.

David Hu: A♠A♣

Although Dubrulle had top pair jacks he was behind Hu's aces, and was now drawing to a jack. The 9♣ river saw him heading for the exits in 115th place (€2,750).

Tytgat was down to 325,000 after the hand but appeared to have doubled-up a short time later.
