Christophe Pommier opened to 700 form under the gun. He was called by the player to his left, by Frank Debus in the cutoff and by the big blind.
After his three opponents checked a flop of 7♣J♥4♠, Debus bet 2,300 and was only called by Pommier. He fired second barrel to 3,400 on the 6♣ turn and Pommier check-called again.
The J♠ river was checked by both players and Pommier showed 8♥7♥. It took a long moment for Debus to muck his cards. He only revealed the 7♠ and later said that he had 7♠4x.
While Yohan Figueiras became the first player eliminated today, Yakiv Syzghanov raised from under the gun and was called by the cutoff before Mehdi Rebai in the small blind three-bet to 2,700. Syzghanov called but the cutoff folded.
Both players checked the 2♠4♠7♦ flop but Rebai bet 4,500 on the 2♦ turn. Syzghanov quickly called.
The Q♥ river brought no more action and Rebai flipped over 8♠7♠. Syzghanov's cards went into the muck.
