On the 3♠ river Johnson checked to his opponent. Duta slid out a bet of 55,000 and after some thought, Johnson called.
Duta showed A♣9♠ for a nine high flush, and Johnson turned over Q♣8♦, his flopped set of eights having been overtaken on the river, allowing Duta to scoop an early pot.

Welcome to Day 2 of the 2024 GG Poker UK Poker Championships Main Event, being held at one of the United Kingdom’s premier poker rooms – Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club in Nottingham.
The Main Event features a £560 buy-in coupled with a massive guarantee of £500,000, and attracted a total of 1,258 entries across four live flights and two online flights, resulting in a prize pool of £603,840.
A total of 237 players have navigated their way to Day 2, with Simon Davidson (1,950,000), Joe Smith (1,600,000) and Owen Dodd (1,495,000) leading the way.
