The last chance heat 1d gathered a total of 84 entries of which 11 players advanced and defending champion Muaaz Gani was eliminated just after the late registration period had closed. A few minutes later, Alvin Pillay knocked out Vegard Granli with pocket queens versus pocket nines when he flopped a queen and made the nine on the river a bitter sweet formality.
Pillay ended up with the second largest tally of 440,000 but it was Daniel Scott who bagged up slightly more with 454,000. Several other notables advanced such as Cliton Taliwanth, Chad Moolman, Dean Hutchison, Kinesh Pather and Jaryd Jardien.
