Straight Flush Over Boat For New

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
John New
John New

There was a huge hand at table 27 that was retold to PokerNews.

Under the gun, Kennzy Smith made it 8,500, the rest of his chips. Angelina Rich called from early position, John New also called in the small blind. Brandon Lulov was in the big blind and made it 32,500. Rich and New both came along to make it a big four-way pot.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Lulov continued for a 9,500 bed on the flop, both opponents called.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}. New bet 25,000. Lulov called and this time Rich got out of the way.

The river came the {5-Spades}. New bet 100,000, Lulov raised a little more all in for 115,000 and New snap-called.

Lulov had the {a-}{5-} for the full house but New had that beat with the {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} straight flush as he won the huge pot and eliminated Lulov as well as Smith's who's hand was discarded.

Action was retold to PokerNews

Four players saw a flop of {a-}{2-}{a-} with 2 diamonds. Two players folded after there was a bet, only Frank Russo and Collin Ball continued to the turn which was the {9-Clubs}. Ball bet 17,500 and Russo called.

The river came a {9-} to double pair the board. Ball fired 26,000. Russo thought for a while before he called.

Ball showed the counterfeited {6-}{6-} , while Russo had the {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} ten high which was the best hand in this scenario and he took the pot with the call.

Polk Busts Penza

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Doug Polk
Doug Polk

Three players saw a flop of {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}. Thomas Penza had moved all in over a bet of 11,000 from Mark Mendez, and Doug Polk had called. Mendez had to think about it for a while before relenting and folding his hand,

Penza was at risk with the {q-Spades}{6-Spades} top pair and flush draw while Polk had the lead with the better kicker, holding the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and the river was the {4-Clubs} to stay spade free and eliminate Penza and another chunk of chips to Polk's stack as table 38 was broken shortly after.

Foxen Flopped Dead

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

From the small blind Alex Foxen shoved all in over a button raise from Joseph Roh, Badr Imejjane re-shoved for more in the big blind and Roh took some time before he got out of the way.

Alex Foxen: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Badr Imejjane: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Foxen was at risk in the coin flip scenario. But after the flop it was not such a coin flip as it came {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} to flop the nut flush for Imejjane and basically kill Foxen's tournament life barring miracle running queens. The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and river the {a-Diamonds} and Foxen's tournament was over.

Polk Raises Out Brint to Go to Chip Lead

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Doug Polk
Doug Polk

Action was picked up on the flop as Doug Polk bet 30,000 from the hijack. Raymond Brink called in middle position.

The turn was the {9-Hearts}. Brink changed up the flow and led for 30,000. Polk took his time before sliding a big stack forward for a raise to about 120,000. Brink folded after a few moments to send Polk the pot as he is now the chip leader of the tournament barely edging out Thong Nguyen at the moment.

Nguyen added some chips to his own large stack as he bet 80,000 with the board reading {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Charles Alex-Barton folded after a few moments. Nguyen flashed the {a-Diamonds} and stacked his chips.

Elsewhere, John New is also around the million mark and among the biggest stacks in the room.

Bauer Bossing

Alain Bauer
Alain Bauer

Action was picked up on the river mid tank as the board read {10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Clubs}. The pot had a large amount of about 175,000 in the middle. On the button Alain Bauer had forced Aaron McEvoy, who was in the big blind, to make a decision for his tournament life with about 160,000 behind.

McEvoy shuffled his chips slowly and studied the hand in his head. Bauer sat back with his arms crossed waiting for the decision. Eventually, McEvoy folded and Bauer added the pot to his ever-increasing stack as he looks to make another deep run here in the Lodge Champioship Series.

Stephen Song
Stephen Song

As told by someone at the table, the action was on a {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{a-Clubs} board when Stephen Song checked his action. Bin Weng bet 115,000 and Song check-raised for all of it.

Weng took a brief moment but called off is 300,000 that he had behind, putting himself all in. Weng tabled {a-}{2-} without a spade, which was two spades less than the {q-Spades}{9-Spades} that Song held.

Song pulled in the pot and now sits above a million whole Weng was sent home.
