Zhou Spikes a Barry

Level 15 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Returning from the break, Yunpeng Jiang wasted little time before getting the last of his 350,000 chips in the middle. He found himself up against Quan Zhou but Jiang was in a good position to double up.

Yunpeng Jiang: QQAll in
Quan Zhou: AQ

The flop fell J94 and Jiang was still in a comfortable lead with his pair of queens. The J on the turn changed nothing but it was the A on the river that gave Zhou the better hand and Jiang was eliminated.

Thompson Jams Into Salazar Sanchez

Level 14 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

It was a long last hand that unfolded over on table nine in which Mauricio Salazar Sanchez opened, Charles Chao called and Gary Thompson then three-bet to 120,000. Only Salazar Sanchez called and they headed to the QJ9 flop, on which Thompson bet 80,000 and Salazar Sanchez called.

Thompson used a time bank on the 3 turn and made it 145,000 to go, Salazar Sanchez called once more.

After the 5 river, Thompson used another time bank and then pushed all-in for 295,000. Salazar Sanchez likewise needed extra time and used two time banks before he ended up folding five minutes into the second break of the day.

Level 14 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Haojie Huang fired three barrels on a board of AA29K and Raffaele Sorrentino called them all including his river all-in for 351,000. Huang tabled the 84 for an ill-timed bluff and Sorrentino doubled with the AJ for trips aces with a flush blocker.

Nguyen Climbs to Two Million

Level 14 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Minh Quang Nguyen and Yilu Yuan engaged in a three-bet pot with around 200,000 in the middle preflop. The flop came 753 and Yuan led out with a bet of 100,000 from the small blind. Nguyen called and the 8 landed on the turn.

Yuan fired out another bet of 100,000 and Nguyen stuck around for the 6 on the river. Yuan checked this time and Nguyen counted out a bet of 425,000. Yuan had enough of this hand and dumped his cards in the muck, sending Nguyen over the two-million-chip mark.

Barer Earns a Knockout

Level 14 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The chips continue to fly left and right during the final stages of the re-entry period and the latest player to bust has been Guangcheng Chen. He put his hopes on Q7 for second pair on the 1076 flop and Ami Barer looked him up with A10 for the top pair and top kicker.

Nothing changed with the 5 turn and 2 river and the field of hopefuls was reduced by one for the time being.
