Kiphardt Catches a Huge Bluff Before Break

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Phil Kiphardt limped in the hijack and called a raise to 2,200 from the player on the button. Both players checked the {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} for a {5-Clubs} turn. Kiphardt bet 1,500 and instantly called when his opponent made it 4,500. On the {9-Spades} river, Kiphardt checked and the player on the button shoved all in right away, tossing his 10,500 in.

Kiphardt thought about 10 seconds and called.

"Good call," the player said, tossing {j-Spades}{8-Spades} in. "Nothing."

Kiphardt tabled {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} to take the pot with a pair of sevens.

Players are now on break for 10 minutes.

Monroe Limps Kings

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Richard Monroe limped in from early position and another player limped along before a third player shoved all in from the hijack for about 14,000. Monroe shoved as well and he slapped down {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} after the third player folded. He was miles ahead against {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and had only a chop to fear after {a-}{2-}{5-}{3-} hit the felt. The river was a brick and he collected the pot.

Painful Fold for Dodson

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Ryan Dodson opened for 1,200 in the cutoff and got action from both blinds. They checked to him on {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades}, and he bet another 1,200. The small blind called, but Michael Ermie was more aggressive, making it 4,500. Dodson called and the small blind mucked. On the {q-Clubs} turn, Ermie bet 6,300.

"Show me if I fold?" Dodson asked after some time.

Met with silence, he announced a fold after about 10 more seconds.

"That was painful," he said with a sigh.
