Reiter Holds

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player in middle position opened for 3,000 and John Reiter defended his big blind. The flop came {j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Reiter check-called 2,500. On the {q-Diamonds}, Reiter checked again and his opponent jammed for about 27,000. Reiter quickly called with {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a flush.

The other player instructed the dealer to pair the board and showed {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} but had no such luck when an {a-Clubs} fell.

Monroe Runs Into the Nuts

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Richard Monroe was in the big blind and bet 3,000 on a flop of {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Dan Howell called in early position, as did a third player in middle position. The turn was a {10-Hearts} and Monroe nearly shoved, putting in all of his big chips, which appeared to be 35,000. Howell did jam, folding out the last player.

Monroe called off his remaining crumbs but was disgusted to see he was in awful shape with {k-Hearts}{2-Clubs} against {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The river was paint but the {q-Diamonds} was no help.

Konarske Picks Off River Bluff

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

With about 10,000 in the pot, Eddie Konarske bet 2,400 from early position on {4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}. His opponent under the gun called and they saw a {q-Diamonds} arrive. Konarske's second barrel of 7,000 was met with a call. On the {a-Diamonds} river, the first player halted his checking ways and fired out 15,000. Konarske was in there with a quick call and his showed {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a missed draw.

Konarske showed {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} for queens full.

Dodson Runs Out Royal

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ryan Dodson
Ryan Dodson

Ryan Dodson was up to almost 140,000 and he said it happened because he opened with {k-Spades}{10-Spades} in the cutoff and then bet 1,500 on a {j-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop. His opponent on the button made it 4,100 and Dodson called. On the {q-Spades} turn, Dodson check-raised all in over a bet of 4,000 and his opponent called for his last 8,000 or so.

Dodson was behind with his draw against {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} but he found an {a-Spades} river for a royal flush, the second in the updates today here in Black Hawk.
