Dodson Shoves and Wins

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Stephen Zipprich raised to 6,000 first to act and was called by Phil Kiphardt on his left and Ryan Dodson on the button. Zipprich continued for 9,000 on the {6-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop and both players stuck around. On the {6-Diamonds} turn, action checked to Dodson and he jammed for about 53,000.

Zipprich slammed some chips together and folded right away. Kiphardt wasn't far behind.

Huge Double Knockout for Kiphardt

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
MSPT Golden Gates
MSPT Golden Gates

On a flop of {6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, Phil Kiphardt checked in the small blind and Dan Howell moved all in for about 49,000. Steve Wilkie called it off in the hijack for about 45,000 and Kiphardt didn't need long before calling.

Kiphardt: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Wilkie: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Howell: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}

Kiphardt's massive draw was in great shape and he got there right away on the {7-Clubs} turn. The meaningless river was a {j-Clubs}.

Zipprich "Chickens Out"

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Stephen Zipprich raised to 5,000 in middle position and got two callers. Everyone checked the {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{q-Diamonds} to bring the {6-Diamonds} to the board. The big blind bet 15,000 and only Zipprich called. The river was an {a-Hearts} and the big blind bet 20,000.

Zipprich called after about a minute and was told he was good. He tossed in {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}.

"Chickened out," he said.

Kiphardt's Float Fails

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With {7-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} on the felt, Stephen Zipprich bet 10,000 from early position. Only Phil Kiphardt, on his left, called, while the two others folded. The river was a {9-Spades} and Zipprich checked. Kiphardt bet 20,000 and Zipprich tanked for more than a minute before slapping in calling chips.

Kiphardt showed {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} but it was no good against {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for tens up.

Stybaniewicz Unlucky

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Krzysztof Stybaniewicz
Krzysztof Stybaniewicz

Krzysztof Stybaniewicz got his remaining 21,400 in with {q-}{q-} and was up against the {a-}{10-} of Eddie Konarske. Unfortunately for Stybaniewicz, his hand wouldn't hold, continuing a disappointing run of cards to end his Day 1a unless he opts to buy in short.

Suzuki Outruns Stybaniewicz

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Patrick Suzuki opened for 4,000 in middle position, Krzysztof Stybaniewicz made it 13,800 in the small blind, and Suzuki shoved all in. Stybaniewicz tossed in some chips and turned {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} skyward.

Suzuki had two overs with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and the board ran in his favor: {k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.
