Collins Flirts With Elimination

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Greg Collins
Greg Collins

Greg Collins shoved his remaining 27,600 into the middle from the cutoff over a middle-position open and received a call once action made its way back to the opener.

Greg Collins: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Middle Position: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Collins let out a remark about the apparent cooler he had been dealt. However, the true blow would be dealt to his opponent as the board ran out {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}, giving Collins a set of jacks on the turn to score him the improbable double.

Moskalik Doubles Through Nguyen

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Hung Nguyen had 6,000 in front of him in early position and was in the process of asking how much more he had to call. Scott Moskalik had three-bet all in and Nguyen announced a call before the dealer could finish the count.

Scott Moskalik: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Hung Nguyen: {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Moskalik was out in front and stayed there as the board ran out {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}, fading Nguyen's two live cards and flopped gutshot straight draw to the nuts.

Dean Gets Aces at the Right Time

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Slater Dean
Slater Dean

David Blankenship opened the action with a raise to 6,000 in middle position and received a call from the player on the button. Slater Dean then three-bet all in for 25,200 from the small blind and received a fold from Blankenship before the player on the button called.

Slater Dean: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Dean saw the board run out in his favor, coming {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} to earn him the easy dub.

Watters Delivers a Shower

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

David Blankenship saw action folded to him in middle position and limped in. The hijack also limped in to put action onto Bob Watters, who was in the cutoff and pumped it up to 20,500. Action folded back to Blankenship and he let his cards go as well.

Action was then on the hijack and he limp-three-bet all in for about 35,000. Watters quickly called.

Hijack: {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Bob Watters: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The two were off to the races with Watters out in front and poised for both the pot and the knockout. The runout came clean in his favor, falling {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} to leave his pocket eights best and send his opponent to the showers just past the midway point in Level 12.

Fallis Doubles; Wheeler Busts

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Mike Fallis
Mike Fallis

A player limped in under the gun and action folded around to Mike Fallis, who went all in from the cutoff. The next two players folded and the big blind asked to confirm the amount of 23,700, which the dealer did. He thought for a bit and then folded, putting action back onto the under-the-gun limper.

"You're probably ahead," said the player. "I call," he added afterwards so quickly that it came out as one runon sentence.

Mike Fallis: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Under the Gun: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The player was not immediately correct, but his statement became true as the flop fell {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} to give Fallis a pair of kings. It would be all Fallis needed as the turn {8-Clubs} and river {6-Spades} completed the runout and scored him the double.

Moments later, Mike Wheeler was eliminated from the tournament on an adjacent table after his flopped top pair with ace-queen ran into a set of threes.

Geller Gets Collins, Nears a Half-Million

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Greg Geller
Greg Geller

An eruption of noise was heard from Table 13 and Greg Collins had gotten all in from middle position before the flop against Greg Geller, who was in the cutoff. The noise came from the runout of {8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

Greg Collins: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Greg Geller: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Collins was able to stave off elimination earlier and once again found himself up against a monster. However, he would find himself up against Geller's flopped quads for a largely quick and painless elimination.

Meanwhile, Geller now has a stack of around 485,000 and is the likely chip leader in the tournament with less than 90 minutes of play left in the evening.
