James Eads opened the action with a raise to 1,200 under the gun and saw seven players call, one of which was Phillip Gioia on Eads' direct left. The flop came and both blinds checked to Eads, who went all in for 10,200.

Action folded around to the big blind, who went into the tank for about 90 seconds before announcing that she would call.

Eads was out in front with his top pair and further improved on the turn . Though it did not change the number of outs he would need to fade, it also would not matter as the river fell clean and scored him the pot.

Gonzales fell just short of finding a bag on Day 1a and is back in action again, while Suzuki and Gius are hoping to find a Day 2 bag on their first bullets of the tournament.

Mittleman Finds Quads on River To Double

Mittleman had flopped a set but got all of his chips in the middle on the turn once Peragallo had improved to the current nuts. He would need the board to pair on the river and got just that, improving to quads as the river fell to score him the double at Peragallo's expense.

Gius Running Good out of the Gate

Greg Gius saw action folded to him in middle position and limped in. He was raised by Caleb Meyer to 2,300 out of the small blind and called, taking action heads up to a flop of . Meyer checked to Gius, who bet 2,000. Meyer called.

The dealer brought a turn of and Meyer led out for 3,000. Gius raised to 11,000 to put Meyer into the tank. He eventually folded.

"C'mon! I always have it!" said Gius, slamming down onto the felt.

Tablemate Patrick Suzuki chimed in, "Man, how do you run so good? If I ran that good I'd win every tournament!"

A couple more players joined in on the conversation as Gius stacked his chips and the table proceeded to get ready for their next hand.

Rooney Sends One To the Rail

The hijack opened the action with a raise to 1,500 and Branden Rooney three-bet to 3,500 on the button. Action made its way back to the hijack and he went all in for the last of his chips. Rooney quickly called.

Rooney pulled even further ahead on the flop , leaving his opponent in need of running outs to either a straight or quads to fade elimination. The turn left Rooney's opponent drawing dead and the river completed the runout to give Rooney the knockout and the pot.
