Phan and Ocksrider Among Early In-the-Money Casualties

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ryan Phan
Ryan Phan

Ryan Phan and Christopher Ocksrider have just been seen making their ways to the payout desk shortly after the bubble burst. Phan filled in the details on his bust out, saying he was in the big blind with {q-}{q-} and had a chance to triple versus {k-}{10-}, but a {10-} on the flop had another {10-} follow on the turn to spell his elimination.

Ocksrider's elimination came at the hands of "Big John" Lytle. According to tablemate Ark Onikul, Lytle opened to 16,000 in early position and action folded around to Ocksrider in the small blind, who three-bet shoved for close to 200,000. Lytle wasted no time calling and the two were off to the races.

John Lytle: {10-}{10-}
Christopher Ocksrider: {a-}{q-}

Ocksrider found no help on the runout and his ace-queen was left second best to result in the end of his tournament at Lytle's expense, who now is closing in on 1.5 million.

Rossitto Eliminated by Lytle To Burst the Bubble

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Michael Rossitto
Michael Rossitto

John Lytle opened to 16,000 in middle position and action folded around to Michael Rossitto, who re-shoved for 143,000 in the small blind. Lytle called and the players awaited all other hands to finish before showing cards in preparation for the runout. During the wait, the two predicted that they would chop, and then the time came to show hands.

Michael Rossitto: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
John Lytle: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Any possible chop scenario quickly disappeared as the flop came {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Rossitto found himself losing the three outs he previously had and picking up nine new ones. The turn {10-Clubs} took one of those cards away due to a possible full house, which filled up in another way for Lytle on the river {9-Spades} to eliminate Rossitto in 129th place.

"Big John" With a Big Stack on the Bubble

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
John Lytle
John Lytle

"Big John" Lytle three-bet an early-position open to 60,000 in the hijack and action folded back to the original raiser, who called. The flop was {3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and both players checked.

The turn came {10-Hearts} and the early-position player checked to Lytle once more. He fired 35,000 and received a call. The river fell {3-Clubs} and both players checked to take the hand to showdown.

The early-position player tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for second pair, top kicker, and Lytle turned over {k-Spades}{6-Spades} to win the pot with his top pair. Lytle has been seen chipping up over the last couple of levels, and is the likely chip leader on the bubble with a current stack of 1.25 million.

Vy Nguyen Doubles on the Bubble
Vy Nguyen Doubles on the Bubble

Landon Tice opened on the button and received a call from Vy Nguyen in the small blind. Action went heads up to a flop of {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and Nguyen check-called a continuation-bet of 20,000.

The turn came {q-Clubs} and Nguyen checked again. Tice continued, firing a second barrel of 40,000. Nguyen called to bring the river {7-Hearts}, and Nguyen led out with a bet of 75,000. Immediately after making the bet, Tice shoved to put Nguyen all in for his remaining 156,000.

Nguyen went into the tank for close to five minutes, considering all possibilities of hands that Tice could hold. Eventually, he found a call.

Vy Nguyen: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Landon Tice: {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Nguyen saw he had called correctly with the flush earned the double with 129 players remaining. The tournament clock is now paused and two minutes will be taken off for each hand played.

Nablo Shoves on Reilly; Hand for Hand Begins

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

There was 43,000 in the middle from preflop action involving the under-the-gun Jason Nablo and Tim Reilly, who was in middle position. Both players checked the flop {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

The turn came {2-Hearts} and Nablo checked. Reilly put out a 25K-chip and announced his bet of the same amount. A moment later, Nablo check-shoved.

"Count," requested Reilly. The dealer cut out Nablo's stack to 95,000 total. Reilly did the math on stack sizes with him having less than 100,000 behind, and eventually decided to let his hand go.

As soon as the hand was finished, an announcement was made over the loudspeaker announcing that another elimination had occurred and for all dealers to stop at the completion of their current hand. One hundred and twenty-nine players now remain and the tournament is officially on the bubble.

Gonzalez Wins a Big One Before Dinner

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Rafael Gonzalez
Rafael Gonzalez

Rafael Gonzalez limped under the gun and two players limped in behind to put action onto David Jackson in the hijack. Jackson raised to 26,000 and only Gonzalez called.

The two saw a flop of {5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Gonzalez checked. Jackson made a continuation-bet of 36,000 and Gonzalez check-raised to 78,500. Jackson went all in over the top and Gonzalez called.

Rafael Gonzalez: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
David Jackson: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Gonzalez got a pile into the middle after hitting gin on the flop while Jackson found himself needing to hit a two outer to win the pot. It never came as the turn {10-Hearts} and river {q-Clubs} completed the runout to leave Gonzalez's hand best.

Stacks were counted and Gonzalez had 240,000. Jackson covered, though he was left with just 1,000 after paying Gonzalez and he lost it on a subsequent hand to find the rail a handful of minutes before dinner.
