Brown Calls With No Chance

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs} on the felt and more than 50,000 in the middle, William Firebaugh shoved into Camille Brown for her last 18,000 or so. She opted to call it off but said she was drawing dead when Firebaugh showed {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. She showed {a-}{q-} and headed for the rail, saying his hand made sense.

Firebaugh, having recently won $100,000 in another local event, comes into this tournament on a bit of a heater.

Seitz Finds a Dub

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

After an under-the-gun open to 6,000, Jason Seitz shoved all in from the next seat. Action folded back to the opener, who shook his head as he tanked for a few minutes but ultimately called.

Seitz: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{4-Spades} board was clean for the Minnesotan.

Dang Goes Back-to-Back

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

After an early-position raise to 4,500, Hieu Dang, in the next seat over, three-bet shoved his remaining 55,500 and took down the pot.

On the very next hand Dang opened the action with a raise to 5,000 and got three callers. After both blinds checked the {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop Dang continued his aggression with a bet of 20,000, which was about a third of his remaining stack, got a fold from all three players, took down his second consecutive pot and added some much-needed chips to his stack.

Hochman Kicks Up a Double

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Corey Hochman
Corey Hochman

With around 12,000 in the pot and a flop of {7-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, the player in the small blind checked and a middle-position player bet 6,000. Corey Hochman thought long and hard before raising to 25,000 from the cutoff, which left him 31,000 behind.

The small blind folded and the middle-position player thought for a bit before reraising, which prompted Hochman to call off.

Corey Hochman: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Both players had flopped top pair but Hochman's kicker had him out in front. Neither the {4-Spades} turn nor {8-Diamonds} river changed a thing and Hochman shipped the double.

Brown Tries a Bluff

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Camille Brown had raised on the button over a limp, with only the big blind giving her action for 7,500. Both players checked a board of {k-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}. After unknown turn action on the {4-Spades}, the big blind bet 8,000 on the {2-Spades} river. Brown made it about 25,000. Her opponent thought a bit and called.

Brown shrugged and showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, and her opponent turned over {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

"What took you so long?" Brown said with a laugh.

Saleh Makes the Right Call

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Yousef Saleh opened the action from early position with a raise to 9,000 and was called by a player in middle position and the player in the big blind.

After the big-blind player checked the {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop Saleh continued with a bet of 3,500, which only the middle-position player called. Saleh then bet 8,500 on the {10-Diamonds} turn, getting another call.

Saleh then checked the {8-Spades} river, his opponent bet 17,000 and Saleh tanked for over a minute before he threw in the the chips to call. After the player mucked his hand Saleh tabled {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} before he scooped in the pot.

Anthony Zinno, the World Poker Tour Season XIII Player of the Year, moved all in from early position for his last 18,000 and action folded around to Tim Ebenhoeh, who opted to call from the big blind.

Tim Ebenhoeh: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Anthony Zinno: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Zinno was dominated and didn't get so much as a sweat as the board ran out a lowly {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}.
