Ahmad Wins His Race

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

After a player limped into the pot Peyman Ahmad, next to act, shoved his remaining 24,500 chips forward and when action folded back around to the other player he made the call.

Peyman Ahmad: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

It turns out that Ahmad's opponent had limped with a big hand, but after the {9-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} runout the trapper became the trappee.

(Almost) Everyone Loves a Chopped Pot

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

After Jarron Harrington moved all in for his last 16,400 and Al Zaragar moved all in right behind for his last 12,000, a player in late position verified the count of the bigger stack and then, having both players covered, made the call.

Jarron Harrington: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Al Zaragar: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Third Player: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The board ran {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Hearts}, which meant that Harrington and Zaragar chopped the main pot and Harrington scooped the small side pot.

Don't Call It a Comeback

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Zarren Egesdal raised to 2,500, and after a player three-shoved for 24,300 he thought for a moment before making the call but was happy to see that he was ahead and just needed his hand to hold.

Zarren Egesdal: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
All-in Player: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

Egesdal, who eliminated his opponent on the {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} runout, had been down to one big blind at the 800/400/800 level.

Flyin' Lyons Shows the Good

Pat Lyons

MSPT champ Rodger Johnson raised to 2,700 from the cutoff and WPT champ and WSOP bracelet winner Pat "Flyin'" Lyons defended his big blind to see a {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop.

Both players checked and the dealer burned and turned the {9-Hearts}.

Lyons led out for a modest 1,300 but that was all it took as Johnson folded.

"I was going to find out right there," a jovial Lyons said before showing the {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a full house.
