Chris Smith, who earlier this evening flopped a set of nines only to be two outed on the river, got his stack of 21,000 all in preflop and was primed to double.

Smith had the superior ace but disaster struck when the flop came down to pair his opponent's kicker.

Fortunately for Smith, the running turn and river gave him a ten-high straight and new life in the tournament.

Josh Saewitz More Than Doubles While James Barnett Falls

After two players limped, James Barnett raised all in for 8,300 from late position. Josh Saewitz appeared to have three-bet from the small blind and then called off for 23,700 total after the player in the big blind jammed.

Saewitz had the best hand and his small pocket pair held as the board ran out a clean . With that, Saewitz claimed both the main and side pots while Barnett headed for the exit.

An early-position player opened for 3,400 and Gonzalo Santillan three-bet jammed for 12,500 next to act. Action folded back to the raiser and he made the call.

Santillan was well out in front and things looked good on the flop. The turn gave Santillan's opponent the only flush draw, but it didn't come in as the harmless completed the board on the river.

Ace from Space Saves Shane Butts

The preflop action escaped us but we do know that Shane Butts of Las Vegas got his stack of 16,600 all in and he was looking to get lucky.

The flop gave Butts a gutshot straight draw, but it was the turn that gave him the lead. The river was of no consequence and Butts shipped the double.
