The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) is back in Las Vegas as part of its 12th season with another pair of back-to-back Main Events! This week's event features a $1,100 buy-in and boasts a whopping guaranteed prize pool of $1 million.

Day 1a kicks off today at 11:10 a.m. local time and is the first of three starting flights. Players will begin with 25,000 in chips and levels will be 40 minutes throughout the tournament.

Blinds will begin at 100/100/100 and players will get 15-minute breaks at the end of every three levels with a 60-minute dinner break at the end of level nine.

Late registration is available until 6:40 p.m. and players will have the option of unlimited re-entry before then. Fifteen levels are scheduled to be played unless 11% of the field is reached at which point play will conclude. The surviving players will bag and tag their chips and advance to Friday's Day 2.

Just last month, the MSPT was here at the Venetian Las Vegas when Cole Keenan bested a 671-entry field to win the top prize of $123,722 along with the coveted MSPT trophy. With such a large prize pool for this week's event, we expect to see plenty of big names throughout the starting flights.

Stay tuned here to PokerNews as our live reporting team will be on the floor bringing you updates on the action from the felt in Las Vegas!
