Eights Hold for Sun to Double Through McFate

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Dan McFate raised from the cutoff and then called the 11,700 three-bet jam John Sun made from the big blind.

John Sun: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Dan McFate: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Sun was ahead with his made hand but had a sweat after a seven appeared in the window on the {10-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop.

Luckily for Sun, the {9-Hearts} turn and {4-Spades} river were of no consequence to his hand as he collected his double-up.

McFate Wins Race to Drop Opponent

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Dan McFate
Dan McFate

A player from middle position open-jammed for 14,600, Dan McFate came over the top from the hijack and got isolation.

Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Dan McFate: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

It was a classic race with McFate keeping the lead after the {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop hit the felt.

The {10-Hearts} turn did give McFate's opponent a Broadway draw but the {4-Diamonds} was a brick on the river and McFate scored the elimination.

Sun Gets Big Blind Special

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
John Sun
John Sun

A player from late position limped-in only to call the 3,000 raise two-time MSPT Champion John Sun made from the big blind.

The {k-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop saw Sun continue for 3,000 and his opponent called bringing the {10-Spades} turn.

Both players checked and the dealer completed the board with the {9-Hearts} on the river.

Sun quickly tossed out a 9,000 and his opponent called.

Sun rolled over {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for the nut flush and it was good as his opponent tossed {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} into the muck.

Baime Coolered by Rickert

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Julie Rickert
Julie Rickert

Brad Sailor raised to 1,200 from early position and found three callers which included Julie Rickert from middle position, along with Ken Baime from the small blind.

The {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Spades} flop was checked to Sailor who continued for 2,800 and Rickert called before Biam check-raised to 10,500.

After the big blind and Sailor folded, Rickert called, bringing the {2-Diamonds} turn.

Biame led out for 15,000 and Rickert quickly called to see the {5-Spades} complete the board on the river.

Biame continued with his aggression with an all in bet and Rickert snap-called holding just slightly more.

Biame rolled over {k-Spades}{q-Spades} for the king-high flush but it was second best as Rickert held {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for the nuts to eliminate Baime.
