Another full day of action has played to its conclusion at the 2022 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Riverside $1,100 Main Event. The second of three flights drew 382 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 522 and with that number, the $500K GTD has already been surpassed with one flight remaining.

Of those 382 entries, only 44 players remained when chips went into bags and Bouaphanh Leuaxay found himself atop the counts with a stack of 623,00.

Leuaxay was the only player to bag above 600k while the top five all bagged over 400k; John Schroeder (482,000), Jared Williams (444,000), Cero Zuccarello (443,000), and Jeff Fielder (429,000).

Much like Day 1a, the final level of the night saw an onslaught of casualties, with players such as MSPT Hall of Famer Rob Wazwaz and Matt Morfitt among those to be eliminated before play concluded for the night with chips flying all across the five remaining tables in the final level of play that led to a lot of players riding roller coasters with their stack sizes before becoming official for the evening.

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned five. Two-time MSPT Champ Dan Bekavac (330,000), Darnell Echols (328,000), reigning champ Timothy Gundrum (118,000) and DJ Buckley (83,000) are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 17 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

Among those not as lucky at the felt included Mikiyo Aoki, MSPT Champ's Jonathan Kim, Josh Reichard, Ken Baime, and Todd Bartlett, with at least a few if not all of them likely to be seen back in action for the final flight.

The final starting flight will get underway tomorrow at 3.00 p.m. Late registration and re-entries will remain open through Level 12 (approximately 11:40 p.m.). PokerNews will be on hand to capture all the action, so be sure to join us then.

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

After losing majority of his stack in a previous hand, George Dietz raised all in for 54,000 from the cutoff and Jeff Fielder looked him up from the big blind.

George Dietz: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Jeff Fielder: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Dietz was ahead with his made hand and improved after the {2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{k-Clubs} flop gave him a set of deuces.

The {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{a-Hearts} board was checked down to the {q-Hearts} river where the cutoff check-called the 50,000 bet from Leuaxay.

Leuaxay quickly showed {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for the nuts and collected the pot after their opponent mucked their hand.

Bekavac Gets Big Blind Special, Doubles Through Buell

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Dan Bekavac
Dan Bekavac

Action folded to Steve Buell who raised to 8,000 from the button only to call the 20,000 three-bet Dan Bekavac tossed out from the big blind.

The {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop saw Bekavac continue for 18,000 and Buell called bringing the {j-Clubs} turn.

Bekavac fired out 30,000 and then called off his 186,000 stack after Buell raised all in holding roughly 60,000 more in chips.

Dan Bekavac: {10-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Steve Buell: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Bekavac was ahead after flopping two-pair and was able to fade Buell's double gutter as the {7-Diamonds} river secured his double-up.

Buell was left with just under 60,000 and was eliminated the very next hand.
