Welko Straightened Out by Dietz

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

George Dietz raised to 7,000 from early position and Craig Welko defended his big blind to see a {7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop.

Both players checked and the dealer turned the {9-Diamonds}.

Welko led out for 8,000 and Dietz called bringing about the {q-Hearts} river. Welko fired out 12,00 and Dietz quickly called bringing action to showdown.

Welko quickly showed {k-Hearts}{q-Spades} for top two-pair but it was no good as Dietz rolled over {k-Spades}{j-Spades} to scoop the pot with a king-high straight.
