Bekavac Soars to the Top

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Two-time MSPT Champ Dan Bekavac raised from middle position and found one caller from late position.

The {j-}{10-}{3-} flop saw fireworks as a series of raises saw Bekavac call his opponents 120,000 three-bet jam.

Opponent: {k-}{q-}
Dan Bekavac: {j-}{j-}

Bekavac flopped top set while his opponent held an open-ended straight draw.

The {5-} turn didn't change a thing and the {10-} paired the boar don the river securing Bekavac the massive pot.

[Removed:610] Won't be Pushed Around

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A player from early position raised to 4,500 and found three callers which included Jeff Grimes from the hijack, along with [Removed:609] from the big blind.

The {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop was checked to the initial raiser who continued for 6,500. The player from middle position called while Grimes folded, and action was back on [Removed:610] who check-jammed for roughly 50,000.

The price was too steep for both of [Removed:610]'s opponents as they quickly mucked their hands.

Melander Dodges Flush for Double Up

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Todd Melander
Todd Melander

There were four players that saw a {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop and action was checked to Todd Melander in middle position.

With roughly 20,000 already in the middle, Melander fired out a 7,000 bet and was called by the button before the small blind check-raised to 27,000.

After the big blind folded, Melander three-bet jammed for 40,000 and only the small blind called.

Todd Melander: {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Melander was ahead after flopping top pair but had a sweat as his opponent held the heart flush draw.

The turn was a red card, but it was the {6-Diamonds} and Melander was able to settle down his heart rate after the {7-Clubs} secured his double-up on the river.
