Nguyen Turns Ace to Double Through Opponent

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Ha Nguyen
Ha Nguyen

A series of preflop raises saw Ha Nguyen get his 18,400 stack in the middle from the big blind and was called by the player under the gun.

Ha Nguyen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

It was a classic race with Nguyen looking to connect with either of his two over cards but neither came on the {3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop.

"Ace one time," Nguyen asked the dealer as they dropped the {a-Spades} on the turn to put him out in front.

Nguyen just needed to fade a jack on the river and did, as the {4-Hearts} completed the board to secure his double-up.

Baime Cracks Powell's Pocket Kings

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Action on the table quickly folded to Reg Powell who raised to 1,800 from the button and Ken Biame called from the small blind as did Peyton Smith from the big blind.

The {6-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop was checked to Baime who continued for 2,600 and only Baime called.

Both the {5-Diamonds} turn and {q-Clubs} river were checked by both players to showdown.

Powell rolled over {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for kings and sixes but it was no good as Biame showed {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts} to win the pot with aces and sixes.

Fielder Trips Up Opponent for KO

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Jeff Fielder
Jeff Fielder

Jeff Fielder raised to 2,000 from the hijack and then called the 7,000 three-bet jam from the button.

Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Jeff Fielder: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Fielder was behind holding two live cards but pulled ahead after the {7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop paired his king.

The {j-Hearts} turn gave Fielder's opponent a Broadway draw, but the {k-Diamonds} river improved Fielder to trips and he eliminated his opponent from the tournament.

Landazzi Hooks a Double

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Joe Landazzi
Joe Landazzi

The player under the gun opened for 1,700 and found three callers before Joe Landazzi squeezed for 15,400 from the big blind.

Only the hijack called, and the two players tabled their hands.

Joe Landazzi: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Landazzi had his opponent crushed holding a better made hand and the {3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} runout secured his double-up.

Baime Shows Top Two for "Minimum Value"

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Jeff Fielder raised from late position and only Ken Baime called from the small blind.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Baim check-called the 1,100 continuation bet from Fielder. The {10-Clubs} turn was checked by both players, as was the {a-Diamonds} river.

"You can say I got minimum value," stated Baime as he rolled over {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} to win the pot with top two-pair.
