Morfitt Applies Pressure

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

With nearly 20,000 in the pot and {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} on the board, Matt Morfitt checked from early position and a player in the cutoff bet 9,500.

Morfitt raised to 30,000 and his opponent went into the tank. After considering all of the options, his opponent tossed his cards in the muck.

Morfitt is holding steady as the tournament crosses the midway point on Day 1b.

Westberg Triples Up

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player in middle position raised to 2,000 and Steve Westberg raised to 6,100 from the cutoff. The player in middle position called.

The flop was {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and the player in middle position checked. The button shoved and his opponent folded, leaving just two players left.

Steve Westberg: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The turn was {k-Spades}, giving Westberg the lead, and the river {9-Spades} sealed the deal on a triple up.

"I'm hoping I can get something better than a hot dog for dinner," Westberg said.
