Action folded around to David Perlman on the button and he opened to 1,100. Alex Smith three-bet to 2,600 in the small blind and Perlman asked to see Smith's stack before four-betting to 7,000.

Less than 15 seconds then passed before Smith five-bet jammed, and Perlman had his stack counted to be 37,800. Perlman thought for a bit, and decided not to go with it, sending his cards to the muck instead to earn Smith the pot with his shove.

There was more than 4,000 in the middle on a board reading and the dealer was in the process of raking in another 1,300 from three players apiece to nearly double the size of the pot. The river came and Zach Soller bet 2,500, receiving a fold from an early-position player to put action on Nick Marchittin in middle position. Marchitti went into the tank for close to a minute and eventually found a call.
