Cole Needs No Showdown

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Austin Cole
Austin Cole

A mountain of chips was already in the middle with four-handed action going to {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{a-Hearts}. Steve Patch was first to act under the gun and checked to Austin Cole, who was one position over. Cole bet 5,00 and the player on his direct left called, prompting a fold from middle position before Patch announced a call.

Three then went to the river {10-Spades} and Cole threw out a bet of 7,000 before immediately grabbing it back and apologizing to Patch about not realizing he was first to act. Patch checked, Cole threw out 7,000, and received a fold from the player on his left after about 20 seconds to send action back to Patch.

Patch then went into the tank for about the same amount of time before sending his cards to the muck.

"Sorry," said Cole again of his out-of-turn bet as the pot was sent his way.

"No worries!" said Patch. "It was a close one!"

Fjeldsted Good at Showdown

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Gary Fjeldsted
Gary Fjeldsted

Gary Fjeldsted saw action fold to him in the cutoff and opened to 800. Renato Spahiu three-bet to 2,500 on the button and Fjeldsted called once it became his turn to do so.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Fjeldsted checked to Spahiu, who continuation-bet 3,000. Fjeldsted called.

Action then checked through the turn {8-Spades}, bringing the river {8-Hearts} where Fjeldsted tossed out 2,000 onto the felt. Spahiu thought for about 15 seconds and then called.

Fjeldsted showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and took down the pot upon Spahiu mucking his second-best holdings.

Hendricks Delivers a Dusting

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Mary Hendricks
Mary Hendricks

More than half the table was involved in a pot that had over 6,000 in the middle going to a flop of {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. A player in early position jammed for 6,000 and Mary Hendricks re-jammed from the hijack, prompting all other players to quickly fold.

"I'm in trouble now," said the all-in player as he tabled {3-Spades}{2-Spades}. Hendricks showed {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for top pair, top kicker with the nut flush draw.

The turn {7-Clubs} and river {a-Clubs} completed the runout, further improving Hendricks to top two pair en route to the pot and the knockout.

Novak Out-Kicks Collins

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Randy Novak
Randy Novak

Three players had cards in front of them on {5-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Randy Novak announced a bet of 2,500 into a pot of around the same size. A player in middle position folded and then Greg Collins called in the cutoff. The turn came {k-Spades}.

"How much does he have left?" asked Novak.

Collins spread out his remaining chips onto his felt sideways, announcing "ten-point-five (thousand)," and Novak tapped the felt. Collins checked behind.

The river was {k-Hearts} and Novak checked again. Collins announced a bet of 4,000 and Novak immediately called.

Collins tabled {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for kings and eights with a nine kicker, which was topped by Novak's ace kicker {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} to earn him the pot.

Ryan Hopp
Ryan Hopp

There was a little over 4,000 in the middle on a board of {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} with heads-up action between a player in the small blind and Ryan Hopp, who was under the gun.

The small blind bet 2,100 and Hopp called, bringing the river {3-Spades}. The small blind fired out another 2,000 and Hopp tossed in chips to call.

The small blind showed {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for the missed nut flush draw and Hopp tabled {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} to win the pot with a pair of aces.

Lazzara Takes It on the River

Level 1 : 100/100, 100 ante
Russel Lazzara
Russel Lazzara

A player in early position opened to 300 and was called by Russel Lazzara in the hijack and Steve Patch in the small blind. The flop dropped {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Patch checked to the original opener, who continuation-bet 1,000. Lazzara called and Patch folded.

Action was then heads up to the turn {7-Clubs}, where the early-position player continued with a second barrel for 3,000. Lazzara wasted no time calling and the river fell {8-Diamonds}. The early-position player checked and Lazzara tossed out a bet of 4,500.

Lazzara's opponent thought for half a minute, sliding his cards on the felt as he deliberated before sending them to the muck to earn Lazzara the pot with his river bet.
