Roy Holds To Double

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Patrick Roy
Patrick Roy

Action was three handed on a flop of {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs} with a little over 4,000 in the middle and Patrick Roy was first to act, checking from the small blind. The big blind also checked and then a player in early position bet 3,500. Roy check-shoved and the big blind folded, sending action back to the early-position player, who asked for a count. The amount was totaled to be 12,100 and a call was announced a few moments later.

Patrick Roy: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Early Position: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Roy's top pair was ahead of his opponent's flush draw. The turn {3-Hearts} left him with just one more card to fade, which he did as the prettiest card in the deck {a-Spades} came to complete the runout and score him the double.

Blankenship Wins a Big One Before Break

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
David Blankenship
David Blankenship

Action folded to the hijack, who open-limped. David Blankenship raised to 1,600 in the cutoff and received calls from all three players behind as well as the hijack, taking postflop action five ways.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and the small blind checked. The big blind shoved for 5,600 and the hijack called after some deliberation.

"I'm all in," said Blankenship, putting out 5,600 and then announcing he had 19,600 more. The player on the button folded and then the small blind re-jammed as well, covering the hijack and forcing him out of the pot to bring about a three-way all-in situation.

Big Blind: {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
David Blankenship: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Small Blind: {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Blankenship's top pair needed to fade straight and flush draws to scoop both pots and did so with ease as the turn {7-Clubs} and river {2-Diamonds} came to complete the runout.

Seymour Finds a Double

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Victor Seymour
Victor Seymour

An early-position player opened to 1,200 and was called by the cutoff. Victor Seymour then re-jammed for 8,500 in the big blind, with the early-position player re-jamming behind to force the cutoff out of the hand.

Victor Seymour: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Early Position: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Seymour connected with the flop {3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Hearts} to pull far ahead. He faded the one outer as the turn {10-Clubs} and river {a-Clubs} completed the runout to give him trips and score him the double.

Two Pair Good for Suzuki

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Patrick Suzuki
Patrick Suzuki

Three players went to a flop of {4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades}, two of which were Ted Shenefelt in the big blind and Patrick Suzuki in early position. Action checked to Suzuki and he bet 1,000, receiving a check-raise from Shenefelt to 2,200 after the third player in the hand folded and action made it back to him. Suzuki called.

Both players checked the turn {8-Clubs}, bringing the river {9-Diamonds} where Shenefelt verbalized a check once more. Suzuki then fired out a bet.

"What's that, four thousand?" asked Shenefelt. The dealer confirmed and Shenefelt found a call shortly thereafter.

Suzuki showed {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for the rivered two pair and Shenefelt mucked, resulting in the pot being shipped Suzuki's way.
