Hepper Wins Battle of the Blinds

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On a heads-up completed board of {9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, Jade Hepper was first to act in the small blind and he made it 12,000 to go. His big blind opponent, Mikiyo Aoki, then raised the price of poker to 26,000. Unsatisfied with that amount, Hepper then moved all in for 55,000 more, which sent Aoki into the tank.

After counting her chips and thinking out loud for several moments, she eventually shook her head and set out a stack of calling chips.

Hepper then showed her {a-Spades}{3-Spades} for the nut flush and Aoki decided to show {7-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a rivered straight before sending it into the muck. Hepper was then pushed the huge pot to boost his chip stack up to almost 200,000.

Kirby Knocks Out Parsons

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Ronald Parsons was all in preflop, with Rosie Paules and Matt Kirby on the side.

The flop came: {2-Spades}{a-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {9-Diamonds} turn.

Kirby then bet 6,000, Paules folded and the other two tabled their cards.

Ronald Parsons: {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Matt Kirby: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

SInce the board was already paired and since Kirby had the ace, Parsons was drawing completely dead and he stood up and walked away as the {k-Diamonds} on the river only improved Kirby's hand.

Aoki Scores Big Double with Aces

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

After some back-and-forth betting, Michael Estes and Mikiyo Aoki got it all in preflop, with Estes at risk.

Michael Estes: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Mikiyo Aoki: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

"Wow, every time. This happens to me every tournament," he sighed as he realized what he was up against.

The board was no help either as it ran out {3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs} to give Aoki the win and Estes was eliminated.

Kings Crack Aces

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Tom Smith, Nathan Shervheim, and Sylvester Thomas got it all in preflop, with Smith covering.

Nathan Shervheim: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Sylvester Thomas: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Tom Smith: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Smith was in good shape with his aces, but the flop of {6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{k-Spades} took the wind out of him as it gave Shervheim top set of kings.

The board completed with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} to give Shervheim a full house and a big triple-up while Thomas was eliminated.

Marchiando Knocks Out Steffen

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a flop of {4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Spades}, Mark Steffen bet 3,500 but then was quickly raised to 11,000 by Nick Marchiando.

After thinking for a second, Steffen made the call and the two went to the turn {a-Hearts}. Steffen then ripped it all in but was snapped off by Marchiando.

"Well I'm probably dead," Steffen said as he flipped over {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Marchiando then flipped over {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for a set of queens.

"Wow now I'm really dead," said the 2021 Deadwood Champion as the river came the meaningless {3-Diamonds} and he was eliminated.
