From June 10-14, the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) will play host to a second Main Event, this one costing $1,600 to enter and featuring a $2,000,000 guarantee.
The three-day tournament will offer a trio of starting flights starting with Day 1a on Thursday, June 10 at 11:10 a.m. Days 1b and 1c will take place at the same time on Friday, June 11 and Saturday, June 12 respectively. Late registration for each flight will remain open until approximately 6:25 p.m. local time.
The tournament starts players with 30,000 in chips and plays 40-minute levels throughout.
The surviving players from each starting flight will return for Day 2 action at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 13. Those who make it through the day will then come back at Noon on Monday, June 14 to play down to a winner.

The player first-to-act opened to 1,000 and was called by Jonathan Kim in the cutoff and the player in the big blind.
Action checked to the initial raiser on the flop, who continued for another 1,000. Only Kim called.
The turn brought the and it was checked to Kim, who bet 1,800. His opponent responded by check-raising to 7,300 and Kim didn't take long to fold.
Kim, who has amassed over $200k in career earnings according to his MSPT profile, is still in decent shape with 34,700 to work with.

Maria Konnikova found herself all in for her last 12,000 with pocket fives against another players pocket aces. The board failed to improve Konnikova's hand and she was sent to the rail.
However, Konnikova was seen sitting back down in the same seat she was eliminated from with fresh 25,000 stack.

A player limped in early position and another player in the lojack raised to 1,600. Reg Powell called from the cutoff and Mike Dentale called from the small blind.
The flop came and action checked to the original raiser, who bet 3,500. Both Powell and Dentale called.
The landed on the turn and Dentale led out for 8,000. The player in the lojack responded by going all in for 26,000 total. Powell folded and Dentale went deep into the tank.
"I guess you have ace-queen," Dentale mused. "You're never bluffing...I would hope you have ace-king of clubs."
Dentale eventually stuck his chips into the middle to indicate a call and his opponent turned over for a turned set. Dentale revealed for two-pair.
A meaningless completed the board and Dentale was forced to surrender a large portion of his stack.

Aaron Massey opened to 800 from the hijack and was called by a player on the button, small blind, and Jeremy Calverley in the big blind with just 2,100 behind.
The flop came and action checked to Massey, who continued for 1,100. Only the player in the small blind called.
The turn brought the and when checked to, Massey continued for a bit over 2,000 and his opponent quickly folded.
On the very next hand, a player in early position opened to 800 and was three-bet by the player in the cutoff to 2,800. Calverley called all-in for his last 2,100 from the small blind and the initial raiser folded.

Calverly was in rough shape and the runout wasn't enough to save his tournament life.
However, Calverley re-entered soon after busting and was seen sitting with a fresh stack.
