A Look at the MSPT Hall of Fame

The MSPT Hall of Fame, established in 2017, is proud to recognize those individuals who have shown superior skill and achieved specific long-term accomplishments.

The criteria to earn a spot on the MSPT Hall of Fame is as follows:

  • Achieve a minimum of 25 MSPT Main Event Cashes and 1 MSPT Win OR 1 MSPT Player of the Year; or
  • Achieve a minimum of 10 MSPT Main Event Final Tables and 1 MSPT Win OR 1 MSPT Player of the Year

As of today, seven players are currently enshrined in the MSPT Hall of Fame.

Jake Daniels entered the field during the break and wasted no time in finding some chips.

Daniels opened the action from middle position with a raise to 1,100 and the small blind came along with a call.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Daniels continued with a bet of 1,100. The small blind made the check-call and the turn was {2-Hearts}.

The small blind checked again on the turn and Daniels bet 2,300 into another check-call.

The river was {9-Diamonds} and the small blind checked for a third time. Daniels bet 10,500 and his opponent made the fold.

Runnels Back Near Starting Stack

With around 3,000 in the pot and {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts} on the board, a player in the small blind bet raised to 1,500. Mike Runnels made the call from the big blind and a player under the gun came along.

The turn was {8-Hearts} and all three players checked. The river was {4-Clubs} and the small blind checked to Runnels for a bet of 3,100. The other two players folded and Runnels showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} while scooping an important pot to get some breathing room.

Garcia Moves Up the Leaderboard

Recent WBC interim lightweight champion Ryan Garcia was heads-up in a pot of around 5,000 with a flop of {10-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

The player in middle position bet 2,700 and Garcia three-bet to 5,400 from the next seat over. Garcia's opponent made the lay down after a short tank and Garcia scooped a pot to cap off a huge run that started before the break with a big pot on a nut flush.

The turn was {7-Clubs} and Harmon fired 3,500. Berk made another call and the river was {10-Spades}.

Harmon bet 14,000 on the river to a call from Berk. Harmon showed {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for three sevens to take the pot and chip back up after falling behind early.

Gilmore's Aces Busted

PokerNews came into the action as the board was being run out. Mika Gilmore was all in from middle position for 26,000 and a player in the big blind made the call. Gilmore had {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and her opponent had {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

The board was {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, and Gilmore was left with just a few chips when her aces were busted by three sevens. Gilmore busted on the next hand.
