Scott Clements brings a very impressive poker resume to the MSPT Venetian Poker Bowl IV Main Event. Clements has over $8,000,000 in live earnings, three WSOP bracelets, and one WSOP Circuit ring so far. Clements starting stack has gone down a bit but he looks to change that very soon.
Ryan Laplante started the action with a min-raise to 800 from the hijack position. Everyone folded around to the player in the big blind who made the call.
The on the flop led to a check from the early-position player. Laplante continued his aggression with a bet of 800. The big blind quickly called and the turn card was presented.
The turn brought a check from both the early-position player and Laplante.
Finally, the river brought a long pause to Laplante's opponent. After a few moments of thought, he checked. Laplante was not quick to act while looking over the board. A bet of 3,500 (about a pot-size bet) was pushed towards the center by Laplante. His opponent quickly called and saw the bad news.
Laplante turned over for a rivered straight. His opponent held onto his cards for a lingering moment before throwing them into the muck.

Rodger Johnson is a frequent player at MSPT events all over the country. Johnson has 16 Main Event cashes, three final tables, and one trophy over the last 11 years.
Johnson looks to make his third cash at a MSPT Venetian event and improve on his 12th-place finish here in 2018.
The only other player still in the hand held all of his remaining chips in the air while considering his future. "Alright, I suppose." was heard as his chips were dropped to the table.
