Louise Francoeur
Louise Francoeur

Louise Francoeur has amassed well over $500,000 in live earnings over the years and 2020 seems to be off to a good start! Francoeur finished eighth and second this past week in events here at The Venetian for just over $5,600.

The Venetian may be a good spot for Francoeur as she is quickly adding chips to her new chip stack. We will see how she does this weekend at the MSPT Venetian Poker Bowl IV Main Event.

Costa Builds His Stack

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

With a pot of over 5,000 and four players still in, a flop of {10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs} was shown.

Jim Pennella opened for 1,100 and only Dale Willie and Denian Costa called his bet.

The {3-Diamonds} came on the turn and brought a check from both Willie and Pennella. Costa bet 1,400 leading to a fold from Willie while Pennella made the call.

With the {8-Diamonds} on the river, Costa opened for a large stack of yellow chips equaling a bet of 7,000.

Pennella hesitated for a moment but finally released his cards.

Costa had a big smile on his face as he pulled in the large pot.

Ashley Sleeth made a call of 700 on the button after the hijack raised and cutoff player called. Small and big blind folded and the flop was shown {j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

No one was too pleased with the flop and we saw action check through the {2-Clubs} turn and the {j-Hearts} river as well.

The player in the cutoff announced "I've got a pair of seven," but Sleeth showed {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} to show that she had him beat with her kicker.

Aces Cracked Early in the MSPT Venetian Poker Bowl IV Main Event

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Wade Bowling
Wade Bowling

The flop was {5-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and three players were still holding cards. David Mallet in early position opened for 600 with about 3,000 in the pot. Noam Muallem made the call but Wade Bowling directly to his left made a large raise. Bowling threw in three blue 5,000 chips to take control of this pot. Mallet went all in for less and Muallem also went all in for just less than the pot.

David Mallet: {a-}{a-}
Noam Muallem: {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Wade Bowling: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Mallet was ahead with all the chips in the center, but his control of the hand would be short-lived with the {q-Hearts} turn card. Mallet slammed the table seeing that he was now drawing dead in the hand. Muallem yelled, "We chop the pot!" as the {j-Hearts} river came. Bowling took a moment to gather himself as he watch his pot get divided into two stacks.
