Sakellariou Takes It On the Flop

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

With three-way action to the {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, Ardi Jaya bet 700 into 2,100 and picked up one caller. Tolly Sakellariou opted for a raise to 3,600 on the button and that forced folds from all his opponents.

Despite winning that pot, Sakellariou remains below the starting stack while Jaya has the most on their table so far.

Capra Pays Off Punjabi

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

On the {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} turn, Sam Capra called a bet of 500 by Karan Punjabi and then faced a bet of 5,000 on the {9-Diamonds} river. Capra quickly called and Punjabi turned over {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} for a rivered set to drag in a healthy pot.

The same table also features Chao Duan, who has chipped up early. One table over, [Removed:457] was spotted in action and clicked it up to 2,000 in the small blind. The big blind squeezed to 5,100 and [Removed:458] reraised to 13,500 to claim the pot.

Zammit Leaves Sitbon Short

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante
Shaun Zammit
Shaun Zammit

The flop read {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Shaun Zammit checked in the small blind. The big blind did the same but the player in mid-position bet 350. Julien Sitbon was sitting in the late position and decided to raise to 1,350. Zammit was the only one to make the call.

The turn brought them the {10-Clubs}, Zammit took over the initiative and led out for 2,800 which Sitbon called.

The river completed the board with the {4-Hearts} and Zammit now barreled a bet of 7,500 over the line. This sent Sitbon into the tank who talked through his options but ended up making the call in the end. Zammit tabled {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for the flopped set. Sitbon looked amazed, glanced at his cards once more, and then mucked them.

Kroesen Eliminated by Caridad

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante
John Caridad
John Caridad

Only 12 minutes into Day 1a, the first player has been eliminated and that happened to be Ricky Kroesen. As the flop showed {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and a pot of 6,200 had emerged. A yellow T-5,000 chip was in front of Kroesen and John Caridad simply moved all in.

Kroesen was sent into the think tank and apologized to the table for taking so long.

"You want me to make it easier for you? Time!" Caridad said, but the clock wasn't called on Kroesen just yet. It would take another minute before the floor staff was called over and Kroesen called all in within the 30 seconds of consideration.

John Caridad: {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Ricky Kroesen: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The {3-Spades} turn and the {a-Diamonds} river were both blanks and Kroesen became the first casualty of the day. He may re-enter in tomorrow's second and final flight for another chance at the seven-figure prize pool.
