Buddiga Busts to Yong

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Pratyush Buddiga
Pratyush Buddiga

Pratyush Buddiga, who bubbled the Triton Super High Roller Series HK$ 500,000 Main Event last year here in Manila, was the shortest stack coming back from the break and moved all in from the small blind when the action folded to him. Richard Yong in the big blind called the 22,000 and the cards were turned over.

Pratyush Buddiga: {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Richard Yong: {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board came {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Buddiga tapped the table in defeat, missing out on the money once again by just a few spots.

Badziakouski Sends Peters to the Rail

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
David Peters
David Peters

The only big hand at the end of the level saw a rather innocent pot emerge between Mikita Badziakouski as initial raiser and David Peters in the big blind. Peters check-raised the flop of {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} to 10,500 and Badziakouski called before Peters shoved the {5-Diamonds} turn.

"Just give me a rough count," Badziakouski asked, as some of the chips are very similar in the color. Peters was all in for 27,400 and Badziakouski called.

David Peters: {K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Mikita Badziakouski: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The {7-Clubs} on the river was a blank and Peters was eliminated in 12th place.

Torbergsen Loses Flip to Seidel

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Soon after the elimination of Stanley Choi, the next all in showdown was taking place over on table one and it was a close encounter between Erik Seidel and Marius Torbergsen. The duo had gotten it in preflop and it was Torbergsen at risk, but ahead with a pair.

Marius Torbergsen: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Erik Seidel: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The board came ]Kh,5h,2c,Jd,6d] and Seidel immediately said "it's gonna be close," before counting his stack. Seidel had 81,900 and Torbergsen only 77,000, which reduced the field to the last 12. A redraw for the last two tables will take place shortly.

Hand 1

Marius Torbergsen open-shoved for his last 40,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Stanley Choi in the big blind, who called with the slightly superior stack.

Marius Torbergsen: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Stanley Choi: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{Q-Spades} and Choi was left with next to no chips.

Hand 2

Erik Seidel raised the next hand and found a caller in Timofey Kuznetsov on the button. Choi called all in out of the small blind without looking at his cards and Torbergsen folded in the big blind.

On the {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop, Seidel check-called a bet worth 8,000 by Kuznetsov and dud so again for 14,000 on the {2-Spades} turn. Seidel also checked the {5-Clubs} river and Kuznetsov fired a third bet worth 26,000. Seidel called and Kuznetsov rolled over {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for trips jacks, which prompted Seidel to muck. Choi had a sweat, as he first turned over the {2-Diamonds}. His second card however was the {K-Spades} and that sent Choi to the rail.

Kenney and Sammartino Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Suddenly there were just 14 players left. Only minutes after folding to the raise of Mikita Badziakouski, Bryn Kenney four-bet shoved for around 105,000 with {A-}{9-} and Badziakouski looked him up with pocket eights. The board ran out blank and Kenney was gone.

At the same time over on table three, Richard Yong shoved a king-high turn with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} with an open-ended straight draw and flush draw. Dario Sammartino called for the remainder of his stack after having a decent portion already in, and showed pocket queens. Yong spiked the {7-Diamonds} on the river and that gave him a winning flush.

Badziakouski Wins Staring Contest; Yong Gone

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Wai Kin Yong - Chip Bag
Wai Kin Yong - Chip Bag

Koray Aldemir is slowly but surely getting very short in chips and Mustapha Kanit, who had peaked at more than 110,000 earlier, was cut back down to half of that again as well.

Bryn Kenney's stack was going up step by step, but he just took a small hit. In a battle of the blinds, Kenney limped in and Mikita Badziakouski checked his option in the big blind. On the {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, Kenney bet 3,000 and was called by Badziakouski before firing a second bet worth 7,000 on the {4-Spades} turn.

Badziakouski then raised to 22,000 and both players entered a staring contest. Badziakouski was hiding part of his face behind a scarf and Kenney folded after giving it plenty of consideration.

In the meanwhile, Wai Kin Yong has been blinded out without playing a single hand to reduce the field to the last 16.
