Dario Sammartino joined the action at the table right away after sitting down only a few minutes ago. He opened to 550 from the cutoff and the button three-bet to 1,600. Sammartino called and then check-folded to a continuation bet worth 2,000 on the 
flop.
One hand later, Sammartino in the hijack and Gabe Patgorski on the button saw a flop of 
. Sammartino bet 1,200 and Patgorski raised to 2,700, which the Italian called. On the 
turn, both players slowed down and checked before doing so again on the 
river. Sammartino rolled over 
and that was good enough to win the pot.

While the tournament carried on, there was a champagne toatsing and welcome remarks by the event organizers and stake holders. Richard Yong, the Founder of Triton, Sylvia Yau, Brand Director of Hublot as well as Laurence Upton, Craig Umstad and Tony Boglic representing the Solaire Resort and Casino welcomed the players to the event.
Winfred Yu, the president of the Poker King Club, also had some words for his opponents and both Yu and Yong then signed up and entered the competition.

On the button, Peter Chen raised to 525 and Sergio Aido three-bet to 1,600 from one seat over in the small blind. Chen called and the flop fell 
, which prompted Aido to bet 2,000. Chen raised to 5,600 and Aido squeezed to 12,000, picking up a call by the player from Hong Kong.
Aido then checked the 
turn and called a bet worth 14,000 by Chen before checking the 
river. Chen moved all in and Aido asked for a count. Once it was deemed to be 18,600 to call, Aido was sent into the think tank and eventually folded after two minutes of consideration.
